Title: Anyone Use Tungsten Disulfide WS2
Post by: pblawler on May 15, 2023, 01:31:19 AM
After casting and sorting I roll my pellets in Birchwood Casey Barricade and a teaspoon of Tungsten Disulfide (WS2).  WS2 is one of the most lubricious substances on earth.  There have been tests conducted on powder burners with mixed results.  I don't believe it is going to make a significant performance improvement but at the same time it sure isn't gonna hurt.  The pellet head and skirt are an interference fit meaning the rifling "digs" into the head and skirt so any lube will not persist significantly between the rifling and pellet but will aid lubrication on the non-constrictive interfaces.  Not to get too deep into the mechanical/chemical discussion on WS2, has anyone else used it and willing to share?  I have chronographed  pellets with and without using it and see no significant difference in performance but I believe it may aid in preventing lead deposits in the barrel.  Thoughts??
