Who could think of a design as complicated as this? Got to love it. Made in 1905.

I like the ergonomics of using the piston tube as a stock, but that cannot produce an enjoyable shot cycle
-
Thank god for weirdness. Sensible things can get so boring.

One of the best videos I have seen on a vintage rifle. Sent me on a quest for this rifle.

How much does that " critter " weigh ?
-
Wow.
That thing has more pinch points than a farm tractor!
J~

Mucho blood blisters .

"1905"
Just roll that in your mind for a bit... that is pre WWI
I saw it in person... Simply amazing
-
Survival gun, if you miss the squirrel you can still crack a nut with it ;D

Interesting have been shooting it and actually no issues with any pinching. Lol. The difference with these treasures from the UK is that their rifles were made by gun makers, all milled steel just like firearms. In US separate companies made airguns thus cheaper to make designs and materials. This rifle lasted only 3 years must have been crazy expensive to make. No shortcuts back then. As the Madman says wrap your head around 1905.

That video was great, I really enjoyed it. What a shame the design never caught on. I was very impressed by the accuracy of both the shooter and gun.

Kind of looks like a Civil War Maynard rifle? You guys need to appreciate “real” vintage. Lol

It's a hi tech Gem! That's why the spring is in the butt. Do you still have some spring in your butt?
Two very good Britannia videos

In 1905:
Theodore Roosevelt was President of the US
The Wright Brothers' third airplane (Wright Flyer III) stays in the air for 39 minutes with Wilbur piloting. This is the first airplane flight lasting over half an hour.

I highly recommend the first video above, it is great!
I had a chance to briefly handle 45flint's new toy at Findlay - first Britannia I'd ever met in person! I was struck by how it combines a really long spring tube, with a really compact action - a modern look at this layout could be very interesting.

Such a cool air rifle. First one I'd ever seen in person as well.
This one has some really great patina as well. Reminded me a lot of original civil war fire arms.

Interesting fact:
2 years later the same man invented the folding lawn chair.
