My targets are at 40 yards.I only have one fixed Parallax scope and it is only 4 power.I moved my head around while looking through it but not much reticle movement.Does more magnification significantly increase movement of reticle on target?I am looking at a 3x9 power scope with 100 yard fixed Parallax to shot at 40 yard target

It makes a difference as to the parallax setting of the scope tour 4x fixed may be a 35- 50 yard usable parallax. Typically the closer the target the more parallax can shift the reticle.
Many fixed scopes can be reset to ones desired setting for their use, I just turned the setting down on a bargain scope with a 100 yard setting now good from 10- 100 with no shifting and clear view. I can also fine tune easily now as the lens frame threads move more freely now since turning them. One can also make a scope tape with exact yardages.

I don't want to void a warranty on a scope with a life time warranty.I know higher magnification affect parallax more but to what extent at 40 yards?I am never going to shoot it less than that.

If you align or center your eye the effects are negligible. All you need is proper form.

Scope power does not effect parallax. The objective diameter and distance to target do. At 40 yards, a 100 yard parallax will be fine. Move in to 20 and you will see it. Move in to 10 yards and it will be big.

I use a 4x 100 yard parallax Vantage scope at ten yards on my HW50 all the time. It's a little blurry indoors where the light is dim but it will shoot single pellet sized round hole five shot groups.
I also use it from there to 100 yards where I plink beer cans. I absolutely love the set up for general use. I can switch from target to target, up and down the range without touching a single scope adjustment.
The only downside is the reticle is a little thick for me for shooting precise groups past 30. It's a great squirrel and feathered pest gun out to 40 or 50 yards.
I like it so much, I bought a 3-9×40 100 yard parallax Vantage for my 177 HW95.
Parallax is never an issue for me. I just trained myself to look down the center of the scope.

Right 👍 That is what my 4 power is for.

Something to consider. A fixed 100 yard parallax 3-9x scope won't be in focus at ten or possibly 25 yards on 9x. Where as an adjustable parallax scope can be adjusted so it's sharp at full power at close ranges.
I didn't want to mislead anyone into thinking higher power 100 yard scopes can be used at typically short airgun distances.
I chose the 3-9x non AO Vantage because I would only use max power for general purposes at greater ranges. If I wanted to target shoot small groups at 25 yards I would use one of my guns with an Airmax scope at full power. They have very fine reticles and adjustable parallax. Most of my airguns have Aixmax scopes on them.
That said, I still much prefer the simplicity of the lower power fixed parallax scopes for general shooting. They're more fun and plenty accurate when used correctly.
