Ridiculous.
-
You can tell when price get crazy high, guns come out of the closet and then don’t sell. Price will normalize when someone has to sell.
-
The Model B looks like one I used to own .
-
Ha Ha... looks more like one I'll never own.... :o
-
I like to look but will be keeping my 50’s series C’s
-
Someone trying to double there money. I sold those about a year ago for about half that much.

You beat me to it Mike! I remember seeing them for sale on American airguns. Beautiful rifles but too rich for my blood, even then but more so now.
-
well, at least the shipping is free.
-
An item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Truth is, it may only be worth that much to the person paying. Definitely not worth that much to me.. not even half that much.
Puts me in mind of people paying 2 and 3 hundred bucks for tennis shoes.
What would you even do with a $4500 airgun... put it in a glass case and look at it?
Could you even buy insurance for it?
-
I have paid quite a bit for some air rifles, but nowhere near that much. If I pay that much for something, I want it to have A/C & windshield wipers.

Yes you can buy insurance for them. I carry a collector policy through an insurance company that gives blanket coverage, anything that is between 10 and 50K needs to be listed, and at 50K and above needs an appraisal.

I thought the B model had a raised rib like a shotgun?

So, you think these would appraise for $5k each? I doubt it.

Pretty sure no where did I say they were going to appraise for 5K each.
But, since you're asking... it's not real hard to screen shot an ebay sale at 5K and say that's what it is worth. Also, if you pay the money they are asking, then that's the value you put on them.
-
Looks a bit odd to me. One bid for $8200?
-
If you have that kind of money to spend why not buy something probably more worth that kind of cash?

Because you can shoot and enjoy the American made A or B... and the guns in that video are wall decorations. Like I said on the other forum, most of those have big issues, and even missing parts.
A nice model A is an heirloom gun that you use and not worry about and get fixed if needed. Buying, fixing, and getting a new reservoir made for any of those in that video would be many thousands of dollars.. and then, do you want to shoot it knowing it could cost thousands more of it breaks (between fixing and lost value due to non original parts).
Of all the airguns I own or have owned... the A model is the top gun in my collection, and very rarely will I offer one up for sale, and only will if I have an exact duplicate.

If you find the right (wrong?) appraiser you probably could

These prices are unreal. I can see where someone would pay that for these heritage rifles if they have that kind of wealth.
