Hi,
Just ordered the 2400XL with the steel breech.
Would like to put a 10" barrel on it.
Anyone know where I can get one.
Drop fit
Choked
Inexpensive.
What other mods should I do to it.
Mostly for better power, reliability, and function.
Really want the 10" on this.
Dave

Drop fit, choked and inexpensive? Idk but if you find one let me know and I'll buy some too ;D drop fit and inexpensive we can do..... but it's not gonna be choked.

In my experience you may only pick two my friend.

Will a 1322 barrel fit?
Not familiar with this gun at all.
1322 10" $30.
Differences compared to 2240?
-
I have 2 choked 10” 22xx barrels in .177, both Lothar, which cost me about $70 each shipped to my end.
Couldn’t recall if the Crosman Custom Shop had them in .22, but they did have them in 14.5”, to which I have 2 in .177.

Yes, it will drop-fit, although it’s not choked.
Only Crosman LW barrels are choked.
-
Do I need to call Crosman Custom Shop?
Think that will be my most inexpensive solution?
What about the 1322 barrel I located, Will it fit the 2240?
I need educated on Lego-ing this series.
-
Sorry, Typing during your reply.
-
To reiterate, the 1322 barrel can be installed with no mods whatsoever.
The Crosman Custom Shop has been closed for 3 (?) years now, unfortunately.
-
10” barrels on my 22xx guns.
-
That bottom pic, that thing is Beautiful.
-
Looks like I'll probably get the 10"1322 from alliance.
-
It will cost a little more but you could always get a mac1 prepped crosman barrel from Tim at mac1 airguns

Thank you.
One of my Don Cothran builds.

Just ordered 10" thru alliance.

Love those grips.
-
Dave,
I have an 2240XL
I didn’t do any mods and I guarantee it will outshoot anything you put on yours.
But it will be your pistol.
-
Love those grips.
Got some stuff from the 2 best makers.
-
You guys have some nice lookers.
I'm jealous.
I'll go hide my head when my "STOCK" one gets here.
-
Steve Corcoran and Vernon Austin :-*

It's all about having fun, as long as your happy with yours that's all that matters, not everyone can dump $500+ into a crosman 22xx or 13xx, both can be very addictive though lol
-
Addictive!
Yes, I see that.
-
The bottom one is a 2250 with a 2260 wood stock cut down, roughly at the time lol project for another day. The top one is a 2260 with a shorter barrel. But basically the 2240 is a pistol....2260 is a rifle, the only difference is the length of the barrel and longer tube. The 2250 falls in between. They two longer ones simply have a spacer of sorts for the cap to fill in the extra room so it pushes the c02 into the valve. I believe your 2400 is a 2250, just made at the custom shop. Any rate, thier are only 3 tube lengths in the crosman 22xx family, yours will be one of the three. 2240 simple threaded cap. 2250 threaded cap with a rod sticking out a couple inches. 2260 has a long rod with a big washer of sorts 3/4 of the way down to keep the rod centered

Once you start dumping money into these 'lego' guns you had better enjoy the finished product because you will never get your investment back out of them.

Care to tell us how you know this sir? ;) Avator has quite a few his self lol, you will see his builds and be jealous too lol. Wyoman has some truly epic crosman pistol builds as well. All joking aside, he is correct, they are lots of fun, you will want to change it.....again....and again, and you will never get your money back. Also the more things you buy, the more things you will want lol

Oh yeah.. I know this from personal experience. Yet I still enjoy building and rebuilding them. I may never get my money back but I can assure you, I got my money's worth.

Agree - the most expensive "cheap airgun" I'll ever own. My builds are refining now that I understand the machines and what I need from them.
-
"Honey, Can I buy this cute little BB pistol?"
"It's only $80"

Excuse me if I am wrong but I thought Alliance Hobby was dead. Only takes money but you get no product???

There have been some purchases by folks here on the board - there is also a thread dedicated to AH indicating they are back up and running. I suggest doing a little digging but overall, the group is pleased that they are once again operating.
Good luck
edit - and of course, if I'm wrong someone will be along to correct me - no offense taken.

While I agree that the 2240 series can be majorly "Lego-ed", I do not agree with the approach you are taking, ordering/planning parts for Lego-ing before you have even received the gun. In my opinion, that is modifying for the sake of modifying without knowing whether the modifications will produce a positive effect or not. I believe one should shoot the heck out of a new gun, keeping careful track of group sizes and things that you think could be improved; in many cases, the gun may be acceptably accurate and completely usable as delivered. If that is not the case, then one can make modifications that seem necessary to achieve the accuracy, comfort and appearance desired.

I'm a wet blanket on the Mods also. I had a 2240XL and it was fantastic bone stock. It all depends on what your use will ultimately be. They are mostly target guns from my point of view, but there are endless possibilities. Shoot it some first, lot's of time to go down the rabbit hole later on. Two things I did was a adjustable trigger spring and a power adjuster. that was it. stayed with stock barrel. Was decent accuracy out to 20 yards.
-
Just like Steve.
I had a power adjuster from the 2300S so I put it in the 2240XL
New grips/forearm.
Today an adjustable trigger spring and some more washers for the sear and trigger.
TKO LDC.
Crosman Tactical red/green sight with rail.
Spare trigger shoe.
I might drill and tap for trigger over travel screw.
That’s it.
-
Ended up putting the 10" on my standard 2240.
Put a reflex sight on the xl.
Will clean up the trigger in the xl.
Maybe a PA

So you did receive your Barrel from Alliance ?
-
I may never get my money back but I can assure you, I got my money's worth.
Consider it the "fun" fee. I also have some money pits, i mean, lego guns, but i love every single one. Its like our version of playing dolls, lol. Who hasnt here woken up in the middle of the night and scribbled down some crazy idea? you wake up, tear some down, make inventory of what you have and order what you "need" and have a completely different airgun by end of the week?
-
So you did receive your Barrel from Alliance ?
10 days from order to receive.
