It is with a very heavy heart that I must announce the passing of one of our great GTA brothers. Robert fought a short but valiant battle with cancer. He passed peacefully on 27 Feb. He contributed a LOT to this forum and was a stand-up guy for sure. He will be deeply missed. GOD Speed my friend!!!

This pretty much sums him up...
His last post on the GTA was offering to send another member an SPA breech for the cost of postage only.

Seems he may have been on the old GTA also ??? So there may be a wealth of his information over there also, one can see his teaching nature through out his post, I have been inspired by in my builds, many words of sage advice, he will be missed by all, but he will be here forever for sure 8)

I've really enjoyed his posts and demeanor.
R.I.P. Ribby

Because he never posted his real name (unless you checked his photo album) I always called him "Ribsy"
Thinking one old dude to another he would understand.

Robert was for sure one of the All Time Best in this hobby. His valuable input was Greatly Appreciated by many who through the years read and posted on the GTA, the old Crosman Green, and the old Yellow forums.
I wish all the best to the Loved Ones he has left behind.
-
R.I.P You are already missed. :(
-
Just now seeing Robert's name in the Memoriam forum hit me like a gut punch. He was so generous sharing his knowledge and I came to really respect his pragmatism and matter-of-fact style of communicating. Ever since I joined GTA a decade ago, it quickly became clear his contributions were among the very best to read and absorb. And even to this day, I often spot little things in the parts drawer or in the shop that call my mind back to things I learned from him.
Robert, thank you for everything. You will be missed.
-
May you rest in peace Ribbonstone. Condolences to his family, friends and airgun community. He will be missed. Thanks for sharing Dave.

I haven't been on the forum in awhile and stumbled upon and old post on some QB guns that Robert had commented in. He had told me in one of his PMs that he had cancer, and I clicked to see his last activity was back in March. I knew then he was gone, he was a very active member. So I checked here... "dang", that's so sad.
He was a wealth of knowledge on some niche guns and a very nice gentleman. He sent me some QB parts free of charge not long before he left this world. He will definitely be missed.
Everyone that knew him, especially more than me, you have my deepest condolences.
God Speed Robert!
-
Rest in peace Ribbonstone! You will be dearly missed for your case contributions and unmatched technical abilities.
