Put a buck rail adapter and moderator bought for another gun onto the dragonfly mk i 177. Then shot a .25 inch group at 12 yds. While that's noth8ng amazing generally speaking, on with this gun on 8 pumps with this shooter that is unusual. Better accuracy with a moderator not even made for this rifle?

I noticed improved higher power accuracy on my DF2 when I screwed on a Rocker LDC also.

That's quite interesting. Some designs/applications must act like a air stripper of sorts, reducing the turbulence behind the pellet. At least that's how I wrap my head around this... Anybody know for sure or have other ideas?

They do act as an air stripper, and a bit better. I have also used these on pumpers to help with muzzle blast distrupting pellet flight.

Air stripping; and possibly serendipitous harmonic tuning.
-
It would also help mitigate the already minimal recoil.

If nothing else, this thread has enticed me to shoot my DF2 in .177 today.... thanks. ;)
I think it's time to go through it and check all the screws and what not. I haven't done that yet.
It's still breaking in and getting better and better.

Glad to be inspiring some shooting of the dragonflies! Group effort!
Air stripping is how I wrapped my head around it as well.
Harmonics of the serendipitous variety makes sense too! Thanks! I have been shooting my meisterschutze a lot lately and appreciating just how accurate it is with the harmonics and balance provided by the muzzle break. Its likely my most accurate spring gun at short range. Regarding dragonfly harmonics, there is a rolled up piece of electrical tape stuck gently but securely... snug I guess... between the barrel and tube. For this rifle more than others I've tried the LDC on, there is a sensitivity to harmonics that makes sense to the naked eye.
