Title: Down the rabbit hole
Post by: Woody.22 on January 13, 2023, 10:38:10 PM
The last few months have been really rough so my mom said she would go haves on an airgun with me for my birthday so, I ended up getting a .22 Air venturi Avenger, and so it begins.

Thanks guys, I needed to get something to have fun with and take my mind off of the &^^& that's been happening in my life, so this gun was needed.

Good choice, the Avenger is an excellent value.  Let us know how it's grouping when you get a chance to test it.

I'm surprised that the Avenger isn't harder to hand pump untill you get to 4,000 psi then it gets tough but I'm up for the task.

Lol I can’t say I’ve tried it but at least you get a lot of shots per fill. I have the .22 Avenger Bullpup it’s very nice to shoot, it’s as it came from the factory. Pellet on pellet at 50 and 100 yards hits a 3 inch spinner no problem.

The Avenger's high fill pressure is a nice capability if you can benefit from it...meaning you plan to sit down and shoot and shoot and shoot until it falls below the regulator.  Otherwise you are likely to find the gun will perform better with a lesser fill (hold a tighter velocity spread) and sustain less stress to both its seals and those of the pump.

Yep, being regulated means you don't need to hand pump it to the max to get consistent, accurate shots.
Figure what you need for the number of mags you have. Load mags and pump the gun during the same break.
I get 6 full mags from my .25 from a 4k fill. I have 6 mags so it works out. But if I only had 3 mags I would find the sweet spot and only fill it to that PSI.... especially if hand pumping.
Pumping to the less PSI means less stress on the gun, the pump and you.
