Title: Accurate 30-050A .303 mold
Post by: sicumj on January 13, 2023, 02:43:17 PM
Just received a mold from Accurate.  Its an aluminum 4 cavity mold slugs weigh 54 gr.  Rifle works well with them (Terminator) but accuracy could use improvement.  I was looking at resizing but it seems NOE is sold out of there 30 cal airgun sizer.  Here is what the slug looks like.

Ah, yes, the EPP-UG scaled down to .30 cal.... works OK from what I have heard, but the BC isn't anything to write home about....

Yeah the BC may be poor but if I can get them to shoot they will work for my needs.  I want to hunt coyotes with them.  I'm shooting them through a semi-auto AEA Terminator.  These slugs work well through the gun.  I had planned on running them through a sizer in .303 and 302 to see what it may prefer.  NOE has the bushings but are out of the die bodies.  Does anyone use these?  Do these kits fit a RCBS single stage press?  I am new to making slugs and seem to be struggling somewhat with molds available, and what else I may need.

My  rifle seems to prefer the NSA style slugs around 50 gr.  Problem is the bore is .303 and the .300 slugs shoot poorly.  Their 47.2 gr .303 is what I am shooting now.  I think NOE makes a .300 50 grain slug mold that I would like to have in .303,

NOE dies fit in basically any standard press.... but you mount the bushing holder under the threads instead of above.... I mounted my Lee press upside down, it makes it dead simple to drop the slug in and you will never pinch your fingers....

Ordered the resizer yesterday or I hope I did.  What would be the difference between airgun bushings and regular?  Hoping this tightens the groups up some.  Didn't want to resize ammo for a semi-auto but I'm retired.  Wife says it will keep me busy.

001 Push Through Size Die Body   1   $46.00
30Cal .303 Body Bushing (B303AG)   1   $11.25
30Cal .302 Body Bushing (B302AG)   1   $11.25

Airgun bushings are simply different sizes than powderburner.... Order the diameter you want, either way....

My 30 cal AEA Challenger shoots the NOE Hunter pellets really good but I did have to turn the power down quite a bit, I might try the shortest pin for the heaviest ones and see how they do the next time that I shoot it.

Bob I would have bought that mold rather than the hunter mold but they didn't have it in stock at the time, just checked and they're still not in stock.

The magnums are a fraction too large to fit the AEA mag, part of how I broke mine. But they are a hammer single loading.
