I have two .45 Caliber big bores and both manufacturers failed to build the barrels with proper diameter. Hatsan and AEA.
I was curious if I could use a black powder mold with rings and they would seat, or if I would end up with slugs stuck in the barrels?

Jarrod I use the .458 boat tails in my HP MAX 457 and they shoot fantastic from it. I actually shot a red squirrel at 70 yards during deer season with mine.
I only use pure lead when casting for any of my airgun ammo

It would not hurt to chamber a slug, then knock it back out with a rod, measure the bullet to get a better idea of the bore size. NOE and other companies sell sizing dies that will size the bullet for the barrel.

What do you consider to be a fail? My AEA Challenger is 457 and shoots the NOE slugs that Wayne posted along with NSA 457 slugs very accurately. Sub MOA at 50 yards with both cast and swaged slugs.

I have not cast and measured the Lee REAL in 45 yet, but I do have the combo round ball and 200gr REAL mold. Hoping to cast a few this week when I fool with my PID controller. I bought this for a muzzle loader, but it might work OK after sizing in a .452 or .454 barrel.
I'm guessing that only 1 ring will be large enough, and that may allow the bullet to enter crooked and have poor accuracy. I can update after I get a batch cast.

I have both the 200gr. & 250gr. REAL bullets, and they shoot fine. Make sure to size them since the two top bands are over .460.
