Hi all,
It's been a while since I've been here & hope y'all are well! I own a Sniper-K .45cal that I purchased brand new from Krale in 2019 (I live in the USA) because I couldn't find any sellers here State side that carried it. None the less, I've taken it to the range (indoor) a total of four times & due to medical/economy & my not being able to use it that much, am thinking probably time to sell her.
My question for you guys: how much do y'all think I should ask for it? I have the receipt and it comes w/two of the .45 cal magazines too. I can't find anyone out there selling one to compare and get a baseline price and such. Any ideas what would be a fair price for an Evanix Sniper-K .45?
Thanks much!

I can't help you with the price but it is worth noting that there are in practice no spare parts for Evanixes which is bound to reflect to the price of used guns.
-
Thank you for your response rkr. I contacted Krale to ask if I can purchase the longer barrel for the Sniper and they said it'll take about 6months if at all possible. ???

TJ has 16mm liners but you need to have the breech end machined. IRL you need to DIY Evanix parts if you need them. There's not enough guns around to support aftermarket parts manufacture.

Yes, it seems that way. Too bad because it's a nice big bore. I'll probably just keep it & use it to learn and experiment with. See if there's any way I can modify it for more power and accuracy.
Edited to add: if I could get an AirForce Texan Lothar Walther barrel would it be possible or even worth the effort to try and somehow fabricate it to work on the Sniper-K? Think Hunter supply sells them but pretty expensive.

They can make 300+ fpe in .45 and with good barrel as accurate as any other .45. There's really no point in Airforce barrel as it too needs to be machined. Easiest is to get a TJ's liner and use a separate "thimble" for the transfer port part. Thimble can be made out of brass and then you just make the leade in to the barrel which is doable with those bullet shaped rubbery grinding bits. Moving the o-ring to the probe means that you can make it all with a bench drill if you don't have a lathe - been there, done that, bought a lathe eventually.

rkr, thank you for all the good info! I'm realizing how green I am on the tech side of airguns. I looked up the TJ Liners and again am wondering if I'm capable doing work like that without ruining my Evanix Sniper.
I'm not 100% incapable... years ago I used to do component level repair on electronic gear. Doing that work I learned having the right tools and schematics are a must! However, it was the repetition that made me better at it.
Since I don't have the right tools right now, I'm quite hesitant to jump on my Sniper. I have a Benji Nitro XL & a Crossman Nitro Venom. Would maybe taking the Venom apart be any good practice to get a little more confidence to go on with the Sniper?
And please my apologies for all the questions and know I greatly appreciate you sharing your knowledge... if okay w/you, may I also please ask your opinion on this?

Some time ago, I was looking into internal regulators for my Sniper .45 but all the vendors I found alwaya stopped short when it came to the .45 cal airguns. So, when I found Mr. Lane providing a regulator specific for the Sniper .45 & .50! I was kind of in disbelieve! I emailed Mr Lane to make sure and he said:
"
I make regulator for all cal's, single, semi & fully auto airguns, so I can supply, however I need more info for what I call odd projects.
I need to know the Power and best to have a Power, Shot Count, Pressure Graph as in pages 1-5 of this manual:"
He attached the manual but I'm a bit embraced because I don't know how to answer him. I don't even have a chrony, which I think probably should be the first tool I should invest in?
This is one of the reasons I love airgunning because it's a sport thar includes so many properties including physics, mechanics etc! I have alot to learn!
Thank you again good sir! I appreciate it!

Bigbores and regulators are not a very good idea. The reason is that they need a huge plenum to work. In general the plenum size in cc should be at least half the fpe, if you do the math you'll find out that the plenum in high power guns will occupy most of the airspace giving you perhaps 2-3 even shots which can be achieved with traditional tune as well.
As for the mods needed, I've written some threads about Evanix tuning for Blizzard and Sniper platforms - you can read them for more information.

Thank you rkr! And apologies for such the late reply.
Was just going through your .45 Evanix Sniper X2 thread. Great work! I appreciate your thoughts on an internal regulator too! Never thought of it that way, so was good to read.
It'll take some time but am hopefully slowly learning my way through. Thanks to good folks like yourself. Thank you again. 🙏

I'm actually slowly rebuildind the Sniper for soft hammer spring and long barrel. I'll post the results when I'm done.
-
Oh wow! I definitely will be looking forward to seeing your results! 👍👍👍
-
rkr, may I please ask where you are getting the longer barrel for your Sniper? Thank you! 🙏

It's TJs .45 airgun barrel, 16mm in OD so a straight fit to Sniper breechblock.
-
Thank you, rkr!
If possible to maybe point me in the right direction to find one, I'd greatly appreciate it. I put, "TJs .45 airgun barrel, 16mm" in google search and wasn't able to find TJ's site/company for barrels. When we were talking about sleeves i found a numher of sources but not barrels.
I did find this one: http://tjscustomgunworks.com/ (http://tjscustomgunworks.com/) and emailed them. TJ sent back a kind email saying he's not the TJs that I'm looking for. He said he loves airguns but only works on his own at this time.

Does he have a website or Facebook page ?

They don’t, but there’s a price list available that shows the range of calibers and prices per inch. I’m not sure where to find the price list.
