Title: Exploded view diag. or pictures of Career 9mm Ultra 707 long lever with stock #3
Post by: PeacefulAcresFarm on November 02, 2011, 11:13:41 PM
My new to me Career 9mm Ultra 707 long lever arrived after days and days of delays.
I got adverse weather conditions caused delivery failure.  Nothing like a blizzard to screw with you.
Well the big truck finally pulled up and a bannana shaped box was delivered with damage and wet areas and the black edge of the adj butt sticking out one end. Looked like it survived the storms.
The rifles was wrapped in bubble, but allowed to move inside the boxes.
After waiting since Feb for this rifle disappointment to say the least swept over me as the open box revealed the damaged wrist all loose and pushed in on one side and the floated front stock almost so loose it felt not attached..
Does anyone have an exploded view diagram to see how to take it apart so I can fix it maybe and put this back together and finally get the 10:00:01 MA Black Mamba finished.
So much fun
Thank you
Ken

Might have it......I'll have to check.  If I do, I won't be able to dig it up until tomorrow.

THANKS CHRIS.
I will need it for sure, the rifle shot 8 times, 5 in the full mag and three out of second load of mag,  .360 ballistics roundball and stuck half open and unable to fire.
With the stock hanging off and loose/broken at wrist I could not hit anything but the roundball did go THRU my rolling targets at 30 yards and this is something the tuned sam yang .45 does not do. I was amazed in the back piece of wood the 200 grain .45 colt slug stuck in explosed,  the 9mm punched a hole thru that peice and about 10 yards behind the target and went thru  a downed branch. I was amazed! And the Will P,  tuned 707  is louder than the LilBob tuned .45 and the trigger job on the 707 much , much better than one I shot before. nice..
Such a big bummer on condition of rifle on arrival,  for me as I was pumped up so much for this particular rifle.  Will make the 10:00:01 better for sure, darn storm.

Have you chronied those two rifles shooting their respective slugs?

I'm looking to see if I have any 707 diagrams now.

The Will Piatt tuned 707 Ultra given the chance to shoot heavier slugs would be a 250 FPE gun, considering that and shooting the smaler caliber, yes penetration will look superior to the 909 especially with the roundball that is harder and doesnt really expand

Great posts and i had already been there looking at the exploded, and Mr. Petersons collection of info. Close, but no parts listed for the 9mm, all other calibers listed. Thank you for info.
I called Mr. Will Piat and he was able to walk me thru taking the stock off and removing an oversized ball from the assembly and free the cocking lever.
Several emailed me to contact vendors for a barrel and stock to replaced the broken front and rear stock.
IN the mean time I took another black stock that broke earlier this year and have been able to graft on the sythetic pieces.
The cutout wrist piece is the same size as the wooden stock and I cut the damage off to match the width, cut the interior to match and uses some epoxy, steel pins and mated the two wrists together and it should hold for sure. I was happy to see the FX fore stock cut piece fit on the 707 air tube with little changes needed.

I'm curious about how the power adjuster works.... I had heard it changed the hammer stroke.... From looking at the parts (I wish the photo was larger) it looks like the part immediately above the "gear" (which I assume is the adjusting wheel) screws onto the back of the valve?.... The valve stem appears to be long enough to protrude through that part.... Does that part physically STOP the travel of the hammer when it is unscrewed, therefore limiting how far the valve can open?.... If so, I can see why it is possible to vary the power over a very large range....
