Title: Loading pellets backwards
Post by: pblawler on November 01, 2022, 06:11:25 PM
I shot around 100 pellets today working on refining my holdovers and shooting two of my 1977s.  I use JSB Beast pellets in both.  The new LDC barrel insert is working great also.  At one point I loaded a pellet in backwards without noticing and it blew the bolt back, the bolt came apart in the receiver. The pellet lodged in the barrel.  I have not started tare down to see if I can get it out without hurting the barrel.  Had I not been using the all metal bolt I made I'm sure it would be in pieces.  The handle came off the bolt body and the dowel pin is missing but nothing looks hurt.  I guess if the barrel is scarred I'll go ahead and put the 922 barrel on it and see how that works out.  Just a little word of advise, be careful not to load a pellet backwards.  I have heard of people doing it on purpose and it may work for some pellets but the JSB beasts won't thank you for it.
