Hi All,
I've enjoyed this site while researching how to fix my Hatsan. I'm a newbie to air rifles. I've had my Hatsan for 4 years +/-. I did not use it much until recently - plinking varmints in my yard. I added a Hawk scope a while ago and was able to take them out at 10-20 yards. A month ago, it started that I couldn't hit anything. I checked against a target and would say I was 4-6 inches too low. A few more days later, after adjusting scope, it started to misfire. It would make a PHRRRRMP! noise and not fire the pellet. I could push pellet into barrel and it would at least shoot it out. Then it wouldn't.
I Took it apart (thank you Mike Ellingsworth). I did not know about the tissue paper test. The thing is, I did not have to use a spring compressor to get the safety/end piece out of the receiver. Now, with the ram out, I can push down with just my limited arm strength and it compresses to the limit. Is it shot? I have a video, but it is pretty much what I said. I stored the rifle flat for all these years which I read is not ideal.
I was thinking it was a bad piston seal and so researched where to get parts. I'm really dismayed at the difficulty of finding a supplier and then the complications of how to order (Hatsan USA or Australia???).
I appreciate any help the you all can give me.
Regards, John
