Title: Leshiy 1 velocity’s In Cool vs Warm weather
Post by: PasadenaMike on September 17, 2022, 04:15:32 PM
So today is 68 degrees in SoCal and cloudy. I tested my Leshiy Classic indoors the velocity was 718 fps average . Couple weeks ago it was very hot when I checked the velocity it was sunny and about 90 degrees the Leshiy was shooting 741 average. I have a Huma installed on it. Sound about normal?

Shooting lubricated pellets, Mike?

Was it a new can of pellets the second time round?  How many shots to establish a velocity number?  What type and weight pellets?

Is the gun power adjustable?  Is it possible that setting was inadvertently moved?  Did you check it?

I am not familiar with the Leshiy mechanism, but understand that it does not have a conventional hammer striking a valve.  Either way, is there a way for the valve friction to go down with temperature, and to release more air?

Create a hotbox with a small heater.  Let the Leshiy  soak in that to warm it up, and shoot it continuously as it cools down.  Include the pellets in this temperature test.  If it is temperature related it should start shooting faster, then slow down as it cools off.

What crony are you using?  Perhaps its calibration drifts with temperature.  As a second test, heat soak only the chrony - not the gun or ammo.  Shoot a few shots over it every 5 minutes and see if the readings drop as it cools down.

I had some me time to check the tune. The tune was 100 fps below the peak. I put a nice tune on it where peak was 826 I put it at 805 average. This should take care of any weird issues hopefully with temp swings. I did test several times by refilling to 250 and getting some coffee and returning to test, the velocity remained consistent and dropped off without spiking when off reg at 110 bar. Think we’re good.
