Title: Cura and Windoze 7
Post by: Privateer on September 06, 2022, 07:12:11 PM
From version 5 and up? It won't run on Windoze 7
I have a copy of Cura 4.9.1 if anyone needs it.

It takes a 3d model that you’ve made and generates instructions for a 3d printer to print it.

The CURA files are fairly big. They keep the previous versions on their GitHub page. It may be easier to download from there. Just click on the title of the one you are looking for.

Another option - dual boot with Ubuntu and you can run the newer Cura versions.

I got Cura 4.13.1 loaded now and it works fine.
I did show Matt a few tricks on editing the G-Code which for me works fine and saves going back through all the Cura settings,
And then saving the output to the SD card.

Another thing I did with the produced G-Code was to park the hot end higher up when finished printing.
I hate where it parks.

And I did all the work in Notepad.
I also have a free program to load G-Code and can edit it in that. Fun part is you can view the movements in a video player.
Check out NC Corrector v4.0 if you want to see how your Code will work.

That trick and that program is very nice to know about.

Would anyone like to know more about editing the G-Code in notepad?
I'd be glad to share that.

So being bored? I wrote a script that allows me to change the layer thickness and account for the number of layers to keep the part proper.
No more going back and forth in Cura for me.
