My new (to me) Marauder arrived yesterday. I am so excited to get out and get some lead down range. I really hope that it performs as well as the PO indicated. I actually did load it up last night and shot it out the back door because I couldn't wait until today after work. It is extremely quiet (i mean like toy gun quiet) at least compared to my other guns.
I looked the entire gun over last night and it seems to be in very good condition and working order. The scope is HUGE :o though. It is a centerpoint 8x32-56. Maybe a little too big but i reserve judgement on that until I have used it for a while. The illuminated reticle is neet though (my first). Maybe just a little lower scope rings (if they will fit) and I might like it better. It does look as though the barrel shroud is touching the barrel band but it is really hard to tell so I am just going to shoot it a bit before worrying about it much. If I am having trouble with the accruacy I would think that I can just remove the band all together and see how it groups like that to determine if that is the cause.
Anyway, it is a nice complete setup for me to step into the PCP world with. Came with the scope, pump, 4 mags and a tin of polymags.
Just thought you guys might like to see the latest addict. ;D
The squirrls around my house better watch there tails.

congrats, i got my first pcp last week and it fully converted me to the darkside.. i must say tho i see a tank setup in youre future, ive had my disco with pump for not even 2 weeks and have filled her from 400psi to 2400psi once and from 1000psi to 2000 a handful of times and im already wanting a tank setup
-
I would like a tank setup as well but I really don' tthink I can justify it. If pumping is too bad I will probably just go back to shooting the XL. Even a cheap tank setup for a 3000psi gun (probably should be 4000psi or greater) would be $300-$500. I just can't see it after just spending $500+ on this setup. Maybe someday down the road but probably not for a while.

Congratulations on the new gun. You'll love it. If the barrel band is touching, it can be adjusted by the 2 little set screws underneath.

Congrats on those two great looking rifles, love the huge scope on the Disco, looks killer!

I think it is touching on the bottom if at all. Not sure how to deal with this but again, I think it is best to just shoot it and see how accurate it is. thanks for the heads up though.

Congrats on the Mrod! I got one a recently, too, but in 25 cal.
I also hand pump mine cause of the price to get into a tank. Its not that bad really. Unless you plan on doing a really heavy shooting session. On the other hand you should have a better shot count than me (I get 16 from 3000-2000psi).

Hadn't had a chance to find out what my shot count is but I am hoping for 3 clips of ten from about 2800-1800 (or where ever the sweet spot is for the gun). Then I am thinking about 50 pumps or so to get back up to 2800 and I am off again. We'll see though.

I've heard a lot of bad press about the .22 Mrod. Most of it being about poor accuracy. It almost kept me from buying one.
Sure am glad I didn't let it keep me from getting one. Mine is very accurate and powerful. I love it. I haven't even adjusted the hammer/spring/valve yet.
I'm using a Leapers 3-9x50 on it and wish it was the 4-16, instead.
Mine drives 14.3 grain Crosman domed pellets through both sides of a 5 gallon steel drum with no sign of stopping. It would brain a deer easily, not to mention small game.

yes the tanks and compressor can be expensive but just think of all the othere pcp guns that will be calling you then! Welcome to the dark side!

i have one in 22 and a great gun. is your scope 1in tube? i have a leapers 3x12x30mm on mine and works great. the 30mm is so much clearer and brighter than 1in
-
congrats on the mrod. they are awesome guns and have even better triggers. what caliber did you get? and like ddgrego stated, once the inital investment of a good tank setup is over, it will provide lots of quick & easy air for any/all pcp. at most you may need a little adapter for some. ;D

You will need a 4500 PSI tank for that one. Well not need, but you will want one after using a 3000 K tank.

Congrats on the new rifle! I have one in 22 also. The shroud looks like it touches the barrel band on the bottom but it doesn't (on mine at least). Mine loves 18.1 grain JSBs and puts them through the same hole at 20 yards and sub 1/4" at 35 yards. If yours is good in the accuracy department then you will love it. Mine is still factory and I fill to 2500, shoot down to 1900 for 30 shots with no POI change at 50 yards. 4th mag starts to fall off pretty quick so I shoot 3 mags then refill. Pumping is not bad at all but eventually you willl want a tank because you will not be able to put this thing down.
