Title: Accuracy update on my FWB 124D
Post by: Mark 611 on October 28, 2011, 09:19:33 AM
I added a scope for right now until I get the correct mounts for this rifle to see if I could do any better I also did some trigger work and adjustments! I think it has mad a big difference in the accuracy of this rilfe, I'm shooting from a seated position with only my fore end hand rested on top of a crate using the same Crosman pellets at 10yds, the rifle is zeroed at 30yds and I'll get some targets at that distance later these were shot in my basement last night after the trigger work, each are 5 shot groups what do you think! :P
this before with no scope

Mark

That's tremendous for irons........you must be young!!

What was the pellet and fps on this one....must be pretty smooth.

By the way....couldn't resist.....just bought Jerry LaRoccas ( FT Champion) Diana 34 22 t06 that John in PA converted. Pinch me!

No one will blame you if you use a scope. I'm 41 and am really starting to appreciate optics on my rimfires and air rifles.
I've been having great luck with the Leapers 3-9x50 with the illuminated mil-dot reticle
I'm thinking about getting the 4-16x40, because I don't use 3x, and I'd like to have more magnification.

You could always try using a peep or diopter sights. They are better than open sights, if you eyesight isn't what it used to be(like mine).
The diopter sight on my TF79 is much easier for my eyes to use than the iron sights on my HW30S.

ya a scope is the only way I can shoot anymore if I want to hit anything where I want it to go and I'm workin on these 30yd targets and some pellet testing to find the most accurate and so far the JSB exact's 8.44 are doing quite well along with the CPHP's I'll post some more pic's later today if I get a chance! :P

I finally got out to shoot some but I had a 10mihr wind from l to R the first target was shot with JSB Exact's 8.44gr unlubed and then a little while later still got wind so I went on ahead and shot this target with the CPHP's that were washed and lubed with Ballistol. I shot these targets from a sitting positon using 3 5gal buckets stacked on top of each other using only my fore end hand rested on the edge of the top of the buckets with a folded up sheet to pad the top of my hand and heres what I got for accuracy each are 5 shot groups shot at 30yds  both targets can be covered with a dime! :P

Nice! Very nice! I love mine...and am glad I mounted a scope on her. Did I give you the information on getting Sportsmatch mounts from Lewis Reinhold? I can't shoot worth a darn with iron sights anymore...past 10 yds. I am approaching 58 years old....and it not worthy getting old!
