Shot some NSA .22 .217" 20.2 grain slugs yesterday in my Origin. Last week I installed a Buckrail moderator and it works pretty good, really only the mechanical twang that is common to the Origin and Avengers. I filled to 3600 and shot twenty shots with the striker spring all the way tight and dialing in the scope . I then set up my chrony and shot a string from 2600 to 2000 ,I'm digging the numbers. Previously I was set up with two turns out on the striker and 14.3 CPHP at 940 fps. This yielded tighter groups and better shot count but much less power. For a pester i can live with minute of Armadillo head at 20 yards and 35 FPE. I'm thinking a fill to 3000 and shoot to 2000 next.

0630 shot five more from pumping to 3000 PSI and had a 1” group. I need to clarify, I measure outside to outside , so yesterday I shot a .480 not a .700, and worse today at .880. Going to find time to shoot again soon. My wife had a knee replacement surgery this week and I picked Her up and got Her home just now. Mostly been at the hospital this week, Wife is fine and doing great. Wife kick-boxed in the Eighties and Nineties and I played Football so We both are beat up and have or will have many prosthetic joints.
I will back out one turn from tight and see what happens. When and if my two JTS rifles(Max in .22, standard in .25 ) get here I am hoping the .25 will be my Pester.

I have to agree about the Buck-Rail moderator. It’s short and light and fits the shroud correctly, and while utilizing shroud space still leaves space for the splitter of your choice. I have spendy moderators for this and 3 other rifles but my Avenger 25cal likes this one and so does my Alela.
Tell your wife that shooters from GTA feel for her and wish her a speedy recovery. If you think it’s bad now just wait till you get old!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Shot more today and ended up going back to my original tune for CPHP's. Back to shooting bughole groups with pellets, the extra FPE was just not worth the cost in $ and group size for me.

I often find that the case. Many of us get fixated on reaching lofty power goals.

I've got the same moderator on my Origin in 25 caliber. It definitely quiets the gun down some, but honestly it wasn't very loud to begin with. Has no effect on accuracy or velocity. Very happy with the buck rail moderator, especially for the low price!
My 25 caliber Origin really likes the H&N Grizzly slugs in 32gr, it does not like the FX Hybrids though.

When I got my Origin they did not come with baffles. I bought a monocore baffle off eBay and it worked better than no baffles. The Buckrail is way better.
