Title: Hatsan model 65
Post by: Blowpipe Sam on July 07, 2022, 02:39:57 PM
Does anyone know anything about the Hatsan model 65?  I got a notification from Hatsan today.  Says it’s a new model.  Wooden thumb hole stock with a plastic cheek riser.  Quattro, Vortex, SAS, and a QE barrel all for $219.00.
Claimed 24 fpe and 10 lbs weight.  The barrel looks suspiciously like it has a plastic shroud.  Not sure I like that.

It doesn't look the worst, seems to be a shroud of sorts, even kinda shoots Gamo pellets  :o

I asked once after seeing on the Turkish Hatsan website. Got told by the HatsanUSA CS rep who replied it wasn't a rifle
they planned on importing. Appears they've changed their minds...lol.

From looking....Looks a lot like a Model 87QE with a Turkish Walnut stock and the AirTact style synthetic covered barrel:

After wandering the HatsanUSA site, also appears they have a new line of pellets from a company called Apolo in Argentina
which explains where and who  the new Hatsan Strike pellets are coming from:

Thank you for the video James. It was very informative.

Does it look like the plastic AirTact barrel assembly to you Steve, or is it just a plastic shroud?

I like the gun but I prefer a fully dimensioned steel barrel.

At least from the pics, that barrel looks just like the ones on my AirTacts, which are nothing but a rifled sleeve inside that synthetic shroud.
Even the breech block on the AirTact is synthetic so I wouldn't be surprised if that Model 65 is also.

Almost sounds like wjat gamo does.  Syn/plastic berech, soda straw barrel in a " bull barrel" type plastic shroud.

I got reservation on the thin barrle in that syn/ plastic shroud from my gamos on poi changes , but after 3 hatd years of use theh breech block / hing still looke as good as new.   I figured id see somthing but nope   looke good and tight..

I see more of the s.american pellets around and used by other brands .

Ive got what seems suspect were made by "rifle" in Brazil ..  they shot well and clean , not bad .

The AirTact does have a metal sleeve in the breech block for the barrel pivot pin. For $219.00, nope, but I do like the stock.
While just a guess on my part, the guess is one of my 87QE's or 95's would drop right in that Model 65 stock.
