Was thinking i bit off more then i. could chew stretching out to 50yards with it , but not so bad today. Lots of pellets , practice and patience... Gave the barrel a good cleaning maybe paid off some.
Hatsan 25sc, crosman airpower hp .177, opensight, 50yards ,. 1-1/2" bullseye ( poor crayon skill)
-
Well figured id try to keep them all in a 4x4" card (3-1/2x4"). Mehhh... I got to work on my hold / trigger pull some.
Maybe if fancy ^$ mail order pellets instead of walmart crosman tin pellets could help?
Who knows? .lol
-
Next time you pick up this rifle, take notice how close the rear sight is to your eye. That's on top of the short sight radius.
Pellets might help. But there's no way you're reaching this gun's potential with the open sights! The sights are designed for pistol-mode!
-
Its a pistol not a rifle..lol
Ya, open sight shooting like im no good at it as you can see from my posts all around here.😉
Maybe review my open sight shooting pretty much all i shoot
-
Oh, I confused it with the carbine. Pretty decent shooting for a pistol!
-
These actually are easier to shoot in pistol mode than carbine, in carbine it can be tricky to get the right hold consistently.
Super good shooting for a jumper pistol.

Ya, there supertact dont look comfortable..
Seems id feel scrunched up somewhat with it. (?) Dont know just seems so.

Well figured i try another during my 3ed cup of joe.. still i need some more work..
Had a breeze right to left and occasionally swirling..
-
Looks like you held four shots in a group. I'd try adjusting the sights for that group and see what you get.
-
Dont know , maybe the breeze pushing them off. Dont take much with this as with a rifle at higher fps. Ive got better a day ago with near no wind. Then the crosman airpower hp aint as good as the cphp were ..
Far more poor sizing per tin with them ..
I do seem to see 50 yards is looking the limit of my skill set and the gun open sighted.
Then the more shots i take in a row like a 10 group i get a bit shaky after 3 or 5 shots and blow it... Fine line between too tense and too relaxed.
All i can do is keep plugging away at it maybe ill straighten up more ? The more i try the better i m getting. My first few tries when i moved out from 30 were pretty wild looking..
Like i say its just the 3 P's. Pellets, practice ,and patience...
For the gun for what it is I cant complain and has exceeded my expectations anyway, and i got it 2ed hand too boot, so im more impressed then disapointed
Ill see what i can do late this evening just the humidity and sweating dont help concentration..

Ha,. Well the sun hit it just right today and i noticed somthing seems off.
The front sight looked off center of the barrel
Well the grub screw that holds the front sight assembly on the barrel was loose and the sight looked rolled clockwise. Gave it a little twist back center and and tightened the grub.
That brought the poi way right , but also brought the rear right back to center .
So i hope it was moving as i shot and now maybe i can tighten the groups up a tad better.
Initial sight in looks better now . Maybe my next try will be more bragable...lol. I just got 2 small windows to shoot in the day without dealing with wind, heat and humidity.
I guess that grub screw is now on its 1000 shot check list..
-
Well dont know .
Seems if there's any wind more then 0 there pushed off. Seems doable but got to be the near perfect day conditions.. with these seabrezze thunderstorms blowing around its not theses days to come..lol
Personly i guess hink the pistol does pretty good.
-
Looks like you are having tons of fun. ;D

Thanks and yes ive been impressed with the 25sc. I figured it would be ok, but id never thought id get what i do From it..
Why hatsan did not stick with this beyond me... Then i got it 2ed hand ..
I think what i like most is pistol can easy shoot indoors as well as out and not much of a backstop when in doors . Good rain days fun for sure in the barn shop.

For me, the sweet spot is 500 fps. I have several rifles and a Trevox pistol in this range. Perfect for my backward and garage.
If I''m going to drive out to the woods or range to shoot, it's 100% going to be for shooting powderburners!

Ya, 450+/- seems good indoor . Maybe 600 max., Maybe..
-
I couldn't agree, more!
I have 4 low powered rifles shooting about 450, 500, 550, and 600. The 450 fps rifle gets one of my best scopes, for the risky shots where the rat is in a tree above my fence-line. :)
I've a Trevox pistol. Probably a little less powerful than the 25. I found I shot it way better when a big ole red dot was on the pistol, but it was more than just the sights. The weight of the red dot made a big difference in hold sensitivity. Since I prefer open sights on a pistol, I replaced the plastic shroud with steel, complete with front sight.
I think the 25 has a recoil reducing rail? If so, I wonder if the weight of the optic would really settle the pistol down, any. But playing with muzzle weight might have an effect at 50 yards?
-
Ya, the 25 receiver slides in the grip for recoil reduction...
Its got good weight and heck to hold ..
Ive did freehand close up but ot was pretty taxing on my arms after like the 3ed shot...lol
Then resting it you got to be mindfull of the barrel/ receiver sliding.. so i found just under the trigger guard is about the only place that dont interfere with the recoil reduction harmonics/ action.
Heres a freehand 10m
-
Today's first try
Went to a 2-1/2" bullseye . Gives a bit more meat to hold to then the 1-1/2" .
15 shots with wide 3 fliers. So 12 on the card .
-
Darn wind. It dont take much to push'em off
I guess out side that the poor ol gir can pit them in at 50 pretty well for my skill set on pistol.. hopefully i can get a perfect day and post one all in.. thats if im capable..
