Title: Compatible mainspring
Post by: DIYengineer235 on June 29, 2022, 08:44:03 PM
I'm trying tontrack down a new mainspring for my Beeman SS100T project. The spring that came with it was cut down and I'm having trouble tracking down a replacement.

I did manage to find one on @#$%^.com, but they're out of stock. 😭

I'm hoping I can track down a compatible spring. The plunger tube is 26mm if that helps.

Did you check airrifleheadquarters.com or vortekproducts.com?

Thanks. Airrifleheadquarters didn't seem to have anything, but Vortek looks good. Ill just have to do some math to get the right size spring.

ARH springs are listed in the "Tune kits" section.  He generally has a large selection. It is definitely helpful to know the spring dimensions you need.

You will need either the outer diameter of the existing spring coil or the inner diameter of the piston.  Remember, the spring coil must fit inside it.  The diameter of the wire used to wind the spring is helpful as well.  An exact match is not necessary but you should stay close.  You'll also want the number of coils.  If you measure the depth of the piston and divide that by the spring diameter that will give an absolute maximum number of coils possible.  Go for about ninety percent of that number.
