Noe 22 cal. 25 gr. slug molds are back in stock at NOE.
-
Title changed....

Not sure where my mind is today :o
Mold #218-25-RF-D6
Mods can change thread title if they want.

Those are nice, to be sure but I'm still waiting for the wadcutter moulds.
-
I bought a 4 cavity a not long ago.
That wadcutter needs to hit the shelves.
-
I used one of the wad cutters on a red squirrel this morning with my Crosman 362 with a nice head shot. The 218-25-RF slugs are AWESOME.

I wouldn't mind a 4 cavity aluminum but I'm done with brass. My 2 cavity 22 gr wadcutter mold will wear you out in a hurry. It's just too heavy for long sessions.
-
Ed I have a 4 cavity brass one for the NOE 250-34-RF pellets, now after a couple pounds of casting those you really feel it. That's what I cast up
before the last ones that were the .218 cup point slugs that I cast. I've already shot some of the pellets but I haven't shot my latest batch of .218's.
I even thought about buying me another .218 in 4 cavity aluminum but really don't need it.

I've got a 4 cavity aluminum 27 grain hunter mold and I love casting with it. The 2 cavity brass one is a chore to use. I'm not a weakling either.

Not to derail this thread but was there any consideration in this design for a .30 or .35 slug?
-
I had ordered a 22 cal. 24 gr. pellet mold from Noe on the 15th and had asked Al when he would have some of the 25 gr. slug molds in stock.
He told me in 2 to 3 weeks. I checked his site the next morning on the 16th and he already had a few in stock :o.
I missed out on the last run they made, so I immediately ordered one of these too! ;)

i have this mold. i run all my casts thru a .218 sizing die and am having very good results through my impact mk2 sniper with this round. i get even better result in the .25 cal variant.
-
Dan I really like the .218 slugs in my Challenger, very accurate just like they drop from the mold, I do use only pure lead for casting too. I honestly doubt the BBT's would ever
perform as well at the speed that I'm shooting the .218's. .218's are all I've ever used in the Challenger since I bought it so I've found no need to use anything else, however the only thing I use it for is hunting anyway 8)

the weird part for me is that the .218 will not reach my 205-yard gong accurately, but the .25 cal variant will consistently hit the gong. I can almost agree with the BBT not performing as well. In the .25 BBT I decked the mold and removed the tail section. it's a hard-hitting HP out to 85 yards then it falls apart. I have been waiting to get the .22 BBT. I run pure lead as well and have not tried Cup point pins in any of my molds. The HP have been good to me.

I'm thrilled to see this post, I am considering getting my 250-41 mold decked to remove the boat tail and possibly the rebate as well. My main concern has been a potential lack of accuracy. My mold does not have pins, do you think that will have an affect on accuracy compared to your HP slugs? I would even be willing to buy some of your cast slugs if you do a run in FN so I can get a feel for how accurately they can shoot out of my Eagle Claw before contacting local shops about decking the mold.
What gun are you using? I'm on the lookout for a 100+ FPE .25 cal gun without stepping up to .257 to avoid buying new molds.

i have a fair amount of the decked 250-41 cast up in hp. I could the next time i get some time to cast, drop in the FN pins and cast some for you to try out. I mainly shoot my Impact MK2. I do have a full sized .25 condor. I could try a few of this slug through that to see if anything changes. .249 seems to be the ticket for the impact 700 mm barrel i have.

From your mouth to Al's ears! I've been waiting for longer than I can remember :'(

I appreciate it. Air gun molds are hard to come by and I don't want to get the mold decked unless I know it will work for my gun.
