It would be even more helpful if you were to give a reason for your vote here.

Scout or pistol style scope with a Mac1 bbl. mount.
Because you can position it right for hand pumping in the normal fashion.
I have a 2x7x32 utg pistol scope on mine.

I cant give u a definitive reason…I just play with. Mine …… so I like to mix it up..good luck on your choice
I will say this…I think the peeps make me a better shooter…
New model 392-scout
Older model c9-peep
1994 397-peep
New model 392S-scope
Both 362-scope…..but thinking peep on one…lol

I am with the masses, mine is scout style. ish ;)

I have to have a scope and it must be close to my eye. I must confess, I have not tried a scout style mounting. But it hurts my eyes to look at them.

Using a Mac-1 mount…u have choices…. used a mac-1 with a traditional scope set up….then someone told me/or I saw u could move it down and Bada Bing scout style….I will say this I need to bump up the power on the scope….good luck

The "scout" scope mount came with mine; front sight was filed down, maybe it had gotten broken and so I have no use for peep.
But my eyes are to the point where I prefer a traditional scope. Sent for the Baker scope mount. Pumping is not a big issue for me.
Need that eye relief. Works fine.

That Baker mount is a stroke of genius…as to all the mounting options on it…I have one on my 392s….

Aperture sights are so great, and I don't put scopes on anything.
On your gun you could put a scope on it normally but that gets in the way of pumping and adds weight.
A scout scope changes the balance and adds weight.
An aperture does non of those things, while making the gun so much better than it was before.

Everything Bantam5s said plus, it makes for faster target acquisition, when hunting.

Everything you and Bantam5s said is appealing, but what is your maximum range on a squirrel's head with a peep sight?

We all know that everybody is different…obviously what works for one ,might not work for the other….I’ll tell u like I tell the guys on my MC forum…find somebody with the setup and check it out…might save u time and fundage…goodluck

Well...
If you go by the ballistic program, 42 yards. MY longest shot was 35. Head shot. Dead to rights.

It's been awhile since I shot any kind of critters, but I can hit the little metal Air venturi chicken silhouettes very consistently at 25 yds with my '79 Sheridan blue streak on 4 pumps and I don't have the greatest eyesight ever.
I'm doing this in a arse on the ground sitting position too, rested from a bench and I can do even better.
If you're worried then you probably want a scope

Out of your options I'd choose peeps, but I like the factory buckhorns the best. I tried a scout setup for a while but it made the rifle feel clumsy. I also briefly tried a conventional scope on an Air Venturi mount but thought it made pumping awkward. Peeps work OK on these guns, but in the absence of a hooded front sight I prefer the buckhorn sight picture.
