Post by: PasadenaMike on May 13, 2022, 07:07:50 PM
Wife is shipping me off this weekend to de stress doing some ground squirrel shooting with my air guns. Now the daunting task of picking which air guns will be joining me:) can’t take one no no no I also don’t like taking the whole safe so some decisions have to be made asap

Sounds like fun!  I know I drove down to S Fl and was able to do a 3 hr iguana hunt with the guy I bought my AEA HP Carbine from.  It was a BLAST!

Hope you have a very target rich environment.  I would carry 2-3 guns, plenty of ammo, and plenty of air.  Post some pics, video if you got it. ;D

I’ll try and get some videos in through the side shot. Just tested my Nomad 2
On my van battery (with van running) and it’s good to go plus a 74 cubic foot tank and another 100 cubic inch tank. I chose my AEA carbine .30, marauder rifle .22, marauder pistol .22 and my condor .25 (plus couple non air powered stuff of course but those are just to test function).

Got back earlier than anticipated. I didn’t take any pics or videos but ended up getting a ground squirrel with my AEA .30 Carbine with a Hawke red dot. That AEA accuracy is something else. It puts pellets where you point and it hits with authority. I got a chance to set up some targets out to 50 and have some fun. I ended up mostly using my nomad 2 to fill my guns. Unless the unit stops running I have unlimited air. I might end up getting a GX CS2 for trips like this it’s even smaller than the Nomad and pretty much no maintenance. I’d buy the 4 year warranty and I’m
Set.

I took my Uragan .25 and my GX CS2 to Texas a couple weeks ago, filled my Uragan twice in the 3 days there, shot lots of Turtles that were taking over my friends pond and eating all the fish, had limited space in my Camry, no room for a SCBA tank, stuck the CS2 behind my seat, worked out perfectly, that was a long drive..... ;)
