Just came across this from Cabelas this morning

For the price it seems like a good deal but what type of Hatsan is this one or is it one? I just bought the Winchester 1100 XSU and got it yesterday and its a powerhouse and a very heavy gun too. But it has no "twang" when shooting it is what I like ...I wonder if this one will be like it?

Did you get it at Sportsman's Guide. How do you like it, how does it shoot and how accurate. Would like to know all the pros and cons of what you think.

I got the 1100 XSU from the Sportsmansguide...ordered it last week and came in yesterday evening. Shot it about 3 times till today.
I really like the gun more so them some of my others now. I never installed the crosman scope it came with because I favored a wather I had here from my Falcon Hunter since I have replaced that one too.
I got the gun out of the box and its heavy...but I like a little weight to my guns. The finish is a nice dark walnut look and checkered forearm and grip. It isn't real hard on cocking either....I really like the bolt action breech it has also, makes loading a breeze. Bear trap works well too since your always using your right hand to release it and left to cock....or vise-versa for the lefty's out there its still comfortable.
I got it out today and just came in the house after shooting about 150 pellets. The only ones I can get it straight on with is crosman hollow points. I tried gamo of all sorts, H&N, and crosman flat pellets without the tang of the spring, I adjusted the trigger and now its like a feather to me and very comfy. I got it sighted in on the hollow points real good after about 30 shots and it hits the target everytime. Its way louder then most I have but it sure zings out the pellets. Sounds like a .22 powder.
I really like the quality and build of the gun and accuracy to boot...its sure going to be one I will hang on to for a good while. I was even shooting quarters @ 30yrds from a rest and it almost wants to go through them ...but not enough energy to complete the job. but its still a hard hitter.
I got to say I love the gun so far and making me think about buying more like it.
Only cons I see are the weight and length its almost 47" but to me thats not a bother.

the new winchester is not a hatsan, oddball rifle from china. have seen no good reviews.
-
Chinese copy of the Hatsan Model 33. Looks more like a clone of the old Turkish Winchester 1000 though.

1 hard hitting all I got to say
-
Very nice looking gun. Sounds like you really like it and that is what counts. Have you opened it up yet. Was there a lot of goop in the barrel. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about it.
-
How much cleaning did you have to do outta the box ?? she looks mint , very nice wood and blueing ...
-
i have one 1100 and mine likes the h&ns in the 11.5 silver point pellet.at the 7 gr range mine goes super sonic and cronies at 1135fps.at 10.6 shes down to just about 1035. and the 11gr pellets are just over 915 and more accurate for me but r a bit tuff to load easily.Trigger has 3 points of adjustment on it.
-
Try Beeman Kodiaks. 10.6 gn.. The spring in this model is big enough to use these heavies. Using the lighter pellets you run the risk of burning your piston seal.

Once I got it out of the box all I did was clean the barrel and surprisingly it was fairly clean. Only took about 5-6 drags of the cleaning rod to clean it totaly. There wasn't alot of goop in the barrel and it wasn't covered in oil when I got it here like some I have received. I have adjusted the trigger pull and now it feels just right to me and a little on the hair trigger side. It came in perfect shape not a scratch on it anywhere even though its a discontinued model.
I will have to say for the $$$ spent through Sportsmansguide for it ....it was well worth it.
I'll give the heavier pellets a try soon as I make a run to town this week Gene.....thanks for the recomendation.
-
Mike - stupid question but what is the gold dome in front of the trigger guard. Sure like the looks of it.
-
I am not Mike, but I can help you. It is the bear trap release button. You have to press it in in order to bring barrel back up into shooting position. This prevents barrel from slaming shut.
-
Yep Gene's got it ....except on this one its for the underlever cocking rod not to slam shut on your fingers against the barrel since its a fixed/bolt barrel. Very easy to get used to as well I like where they put it in reference to my Browning Gold .22 that has it at the end of the forestock.....now that one drives me crazy!!!!!

I have a used Winchester 1100 that I purchased from a friend. It has a Leapers 3-12X40AO scope on it. I purchased it used on September 24th. I have killed 14 squirrels with it at a distance from 15 to 30 yards. I think that it is a very good rifle. Shoots very hard and flat out to 35 yards with H&N Barracuda Match.
-
So Mike what trigger does your Browning Gold have. Also I do notice the front mounting screws are further back than most. Is there a SAS sysem in there?....:) Thanks

Are you sure the lever at the front is a bear trap ?
Hatsan combine the bear trap & saftey on the button at
the rear.... I think is just a barrel lock...
My Hatsan Mod 99 has a barrel lock...
very easy to use... push it away from you...
-
Yes it is a barrel lock. All my CZ or Slavia's have same barrel locks. Slavia has been putting these on thier guns for years.

Sad to say it was pictured with the Quad trigger and SAS system ...mine showed up without either. I called Sportsmans and rather then send it back because it is a decent shooter they worked it out with me by dropping off another 50.00 from the price. So all in all I got the gun for about 2 bills since they already price matched it to an add that PA had it for of 259.00 when it came out and I ordered.
-
Thanks Mike. Decieving us with what I call false advertising. Put of picture of one product and sell you something else.
Glad you are happy with it. That helps allot.
-
The Winchester 1100 that I bought came from a friend that purchased it from PA. PA did not advertise theirs with a quattro trigger or sas system.
-
I think Mike was talking about his Browning Gold not having the SAS and trigger, not the Winchester 1100.
-
i really like the looks of the 1100. i'd love to get my hands on one, but i would want it in 22 cal, which isn't offered
-
The Hatsan rifles that are coming in 2012 will have .22 caliber underlevers. I am salivating to get one. I've got my eyes on a Torpedo 150h in woodgrain. They have the same action as the 1100.......underlever with the bear trap near the trigger. The same gold accents. The 150th comes with SAS and the Quattro triggger. The 1100 is a dream to shoot and it is an excellent hunting .177. The reason that I want the 150th is that they claim it will shoot 1000 fps. Rick Eutsler did a video of the Walther Falcon Hunter in .22 with the Air Venturi Nitro Piston and it was shooting 995 fps with RWS Hobbys. It was shooting 890's with 14.3-14.6 grain pellets and it was shooting them accurately. The Falcon Hunter is made in the same plant that they make the 1100 and all the Hatsans (that's what I've been told). I can't wait to get my hands on a underlever .22 because I just abosolutely love my 1100 (Nickname:Hammer)
