Hi all,
Bob has completed the drawings for a .177 caliber boat tail slug. If you are interested, please add your name to the list. The idea is to approach NOE with the pellet design and a list of people interested in purchasing a mould from them. Drawing is shown in Reply #28 here.... https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=197996.28 (https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=197996.28)
Here is the link to the .20 caliber mould https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=198097.msg156309945#new (https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=198097.msg156309945#new)

I'll have to buy another bandit or chaser if this slug mold comes out.
-
From the previous list, put me down for
aluminum 4 cavities.
-
I would really like a 4 cavity .177 in aluminum or even steel would be better yet. I wouldn't mind at all being a guinea pig for a steel mold for sure.
-
I would like a 4 cavity Alum/steel one also.

You don't need to post any more.... These are going to be run (when I don't know yet)....

That's awesome that they're going to run them Bob !!! thanks a heap for bending Al's elbow for us 8) When I get one I'll be casting a boat load of boat tail .177 cup points, that's opening up the .177 realm of casting phenomenally !!!

This is just great - been wanting to cast .177 for a what feels like a long time, and I have a 24” airforce barrel gathering dust that’s waiting.
-
I’m in for a four cavity aluminum (with HP pins)!
-
+1 here too, n=9 now.
I realize this thread is over a year old, but I haven't seen .177 BBTs on NOE either and I look regularly, so hopefully I'm not late.
I cast in tin, so any mold material or number of cavities will work.
I'm starting to play with their other caliber BBTs, .22 and .25 and... in some guns at some distances they work OK! And in tin they carry more weight than the diabolos or regular slug. Is it a design that may do well with velocity tuning?
Best,
Mike

as much as I would like to see a 16g .179 BBT happen... it is not looking like it will anytime soon.. :(
and the sizing inserts needed...
