i do believe its the lw barrel. it's hard to tell, but it looks rifled all the way down.

If it's lw it will have multiple lands and grooves. Smooth twist should only have two.

Chad you need to get to shooting that thing before I drive down and do it for ya.

if you email FX the serial number they can tell youy when itr was built and which barrel it left factory with...they keep good records....just go to their website for the email address...give them abit of time as somebody has to translate your email

Congratulations.  The FX automatics are my drool-over guns.  I am very interested in hearing how the Revo works for you, but also, would you mind sharing why you went for it versus the Monsoon?  I cannot make up my mind.

Thanks. / Greg

The only paperwork you should be "doing" is Target Paper(work)!

You have one of THE best PCPs out there, Freddy Axelson and the FX people are all great folks.

Spendy $$$ but great guns.

i will start with i like all guns. i think wood looks the best and is normally my 1st choice. but i do like synthetic stocks as well, especially in something that will see lots of use. which was my intentions with this one. and i really like a pistol grip ar style stock. ;D

ok first i read the manual and then i pulled several patches through it. it was quite dirty. i proceeded to fill it with nitrogen and load mags. i'll do a better in depth review a little later with pics and chrony numbers etc. but for now my first concern was accuracy.

i then shot several 12 shot groups with all 4 of the different jsb's i bought. i have a h&n sampler but didn't want to waste them initially. i figured i needed to "season" it a little and had plenty of jsb's. i'm testing inside using sandbag in front and rear and shooting 14/15yds, zero wind. now i didn't expect this semi to shoot the same groups as my bolt mrod, but i do expect 1 single hole at 15yds. otherwise don't think it will do much at 50+yds. what are your opinions on this. maybe i'm spolied from the mrod as it has shot 1 hole 10 shot groups from the very 1st clip and only slightly larger in diameter than a bic ink pen at 15 yds.
my 1st several attempts at 12 shot groups weren't very impressive. this is the pic of paper target. i didn't mark anything as far as which pellet because nothing seemed worth noting at this point. ;D  from 1" to about 1.5" at 15yds mind you. paper was tearing a little and didn't have a good backing. at this point it was late, i tired and a little frustrated so i called it a night. maybe shot 200 pellets.?

for the second attempt i took my bushnell 6500 scope off the mrod. started with a fresh fill to 210 bar and tried again. i shot at dots on cardboard for better holes and no tearing. and i decide to shoot 2 different groups of 6 shots from a 12 shot clip. looks better but still not quite where i should be.

group 1: 6 shots horizontal stringing. JSB Match Diabolo Exact Jumbo Heavy .22 Cal, 18.13 Grains, Domed 5.52mm head    .5" ctc (pretty close measurement, didn't use calipers)

group 2: 6 shots, same pellet last of the mag. my best grouping yet with 5 in a nice little cluster and 1 flier. the last shot. consequently it seems as though my last shot in every single mag does this every time.   .25" ctc not counting the flier.

group 3: 6 shots, JSB Diabolo Exact Jumbo .22 Cal, 15.9 Grains, Dome  .4" ctc

group 4: 6 shots, same pellet  .4" ctc not counting flier (last shot)

group 5: 6 shots, JSB Diabolo Exact Jumbo Express .22 Cal, 14.3 Grains, Domed  .5" ctc

group 6: 6 shots, same pellet .8" ctc not counting flier.

couple of after thoughts:  all 6 of these groups were shot with a ldc attached. i'm gonna continue to try different configurations to see what i get. the first night i tried it both ways and couldn't get much trying 12 shot groups. it would start out ok but they always opened up. more shots = bigger groups.  i was expecting .5" at 50 yards or so similar to Ted's review. i haven't tried it yet at 50.  i normally like to get what it likes down at 15 in a controlled environment before moving outside and to 50 yds. maybe it will shoot the same at 50yds, at which point i would be happy.

once again i will do a better thorough review of all the good and bad (i will give all the good and bad) later.

your thoughts or ideas on accuracy?

Does the gun have the LW barrel? if so some times it takes a few tins to get these barrels to tighten up, I've had a few of these barrels that wouldn't shoot worth a shi!!!!!!!!!! right off the bat and thought their was something wrong with the barrel but the more I shot them the better they got and eventually started to shoot one hole at 30yds! but I've also had them shoot one hole right out of the gate at 30yds and you probaly need some more trigger time with the gun JMO :P

yes it has the lw barrel. and i was hoping someone would tell me i just need to shoot it more and it will get better. i do like it... a lot. ;D just worried about the accuracy. i've got maybe couple hundred pellets through it.

My FX Royale 400 with LW barrel took a few hundred pellets to settle in.  Now I can put several shots in the same hole at 25 yards.  I clean the barrel often and wash the pellets then lube them with KryTech wax lubricant.  I now get better groups than with pellets straight from the tin.

Yeah Man,...give yourself a minute or two to learn that new trigger. Get used to its nuances. You've got a whole new rifle to make yours. Have fun with it.  ;D ;D 8)

yea. i didn't post back 1st night cause i didn't have anything decent to show yet. after couple hundred it's looking better. i'm not gonna hit panic button til maybe 1000 pellets or so.

I have been eyeing this gun for some time now please tell me you love it cause i really want one but for 1.500 beans it better shoot dime size groups at 30 yards like my M -Rod does.

shot it today too see how many shots per fill before it wouldn't cycle the bolt. got 126 shots from a 210 bar fill before the bolt wouldn't cycle. the last 30 shots were rapid fire. this thing cycles flawlessly. my poi at 15 yds (still shooting inside) was still same (very close) even at 120 + shots. i'm sure these would probably be falling off at 30/40/50+. i'll try and setup the chrony later and see how consistent it is.

With all the air they use eventually you will need a second tank and a quick connect cascade hose....then you can drain the low pressure tanks down to 2000 PSI instead of only 3000 PSI

Nice, that gas actuated system is sweet. FX are big bucks but, this is what you get, innovation and robust design, you need to stock up about 50,000 pellets!
