Title: .30 cal PRod

Has anyone build a .30 caliber Prod?? I got my Mini-Rod back together finally after it sprung a leak, tuned it for 20fpe with 33.95’s. But it got me to wondering about a .30. Looks like it’s possible, probably turn the barrel down & the open up the breech maybe?? Any suggestions?? Is it possible??
I’m not looking for a lot of power 25-30fpe would be good for me. Also not worried about magazines, I can single load.

Do you have a mag for the .25 Prod? I cobbled together 1 a few years ago, but never got the mag situation fixed. It gets 6-7 shots with Kings @ 38fpe iirc. Your definitely not gonna get a lot of shots @ .30 GL.

The breech was machined to accept the .25 Mrod mags. I’ve got a 6” tube extension on mine. I’ve had mine tuned for 50fpe for 6 shots before. But I think I’ve had it as high as 63fpe.

Turning a 30 cal down to fit 0.435" would make it rather "thin walled".  Having a breech bored to 1/2" might be better option.   TJ's has 30 cal 1/2" diameter blanks.  The barrel might need slight notching at the forward breech screws.

Some flat sanding on the bottom and a shim at the back of the breech.
