I just bought a Benjamin CO2 22Cal. pellet gun. It says E 9 series and has a serial No. 0076749. The closest thing I've found to it is an E22.
Can anyone else shed some light on what I have? It is nickel plated with a wooden handle.

I cant help …other than to congratulate and say “SCORE”….good luck

Gary, that is a beauty!!

Do a Google search for "Benjamin E9 series" you'll find several articles and videos. I just looked it up.

It's a direct descendant from the Seridan E Series pistol from the Benjamin buy out, then became the E9A from Crosman buy out of the Benjamin name.
-
Can anyone confirm this E6 series pistol's manufacture date based upon the #0076749? The best I could figure was 1973.

I put a Co2 cartridge in my new toy and it was empty in about 30 seconds! I guess I need a new seal kit.
I hope it is not difficult to install....I've never done a co2 reseal!

Being a Racine made pistol, Benjamin purchased Sheridan in 1977 and didn't move all production to the Sheridan plant in Racine until some time in the 80's.
I wanna say 1986 or 1988 , I'm not positive on the year but I know it was later in the 80's that everything was moved to Racine.
My guess is very early 90's after the acquisition by Crosman but before they moved production to their plant in NY.
It certainly can't be 1973.

Agreed it would be a "E" not an "E9"

Yes, and the merger of Benjamin and Sheridan didn't exist till '77.
