greetings from under the flight path of Hawthorne airport.
Been 10 meter shooting since late 80's. Finally went to pcp a year ago as I have 10 scuba tanks that rarely get used these days....

Nice to have you here, and feel free to join in. What did you enjoy shooting prior to pcp's?

Welcome to the GTA Family. There are target shooting forums here. With your experience you should fit right in. Here, have a look.

FWB 601
TX200 MKIII with Vortek internals
CZ200 - The Red One
CZ200 - The Old One
correction to first post - been shooting a 10 meter gun since the 1980's - just for fun and friendly backyard competition.

Hey JE, welcome to the GTA. You already have some great airguns and we look forward to hearing more about them. The CZ is on my short list so tell us more!

CZ-200, picked up 2 for the kiddies when they were on sale. Couldn’t quite bring myself to getting three but you know once one has one they all want one. To my surprise I got 2 in sequential order -dang should have gotten 3. The CZ was my first purchase on the dark side of pfp.
So I started with the FWB in the 80’s and used that until about a year ago when I got the TX-200. Of course my complaint on the TX 200 is weight and balance – not as nice as the FWB and of course the trigger. The FWB match is really sweet or else I have gotten totally used to it. No drag as you take up the slack and then a few grams to release the sear. Compare that to the TX and it drags on the first stage and then crunches on the 2nd stage. Not butter by any means but then again we are talking holding back a garage door spring verses a finely tuned movement.
The CZ Red One shoots great out of the box, after cleaning it of course and putting on a better scope, the supplied one is fine for 5-13 yr olds.

When sighting in at 45 feet I though I was getting flyers. Nope the darn thing was dropping them into the same hole. Spooky accurate. I tend to shoot hold over style so I really need to get it out to a longer range for a day and really dial it in.
I came across a buy for a CZ a few months ago. Someone on the other forum has dibs on it when and if I decide to sell it in the future. I call it The Old One. This is how it shot out of the box again afetr cleaning - didn't need it just some lubing on the wear parts.

Notice the shift in the sweet spot and the difference in air pressure. Yep used the same air tube on both systems. I am attempting to tweek it to get similar performance from the Red one but have not yet found out the secret to get the same flat profile. May just max it out instead with the strangle screw.
So now the kids will have 3 that are almost the same. It had been tweeked (strangle screw and trigger spring so the shot string is not as flat however it does spin them out a bit quicker. Just like the new build this one also drops them into the same hole at 45 feet. I have my eyes open for the larger calibre version – fun little gun. So if anyone has a closet queen that needs her legs stretched a bit call me.
My only compliant is finding a moderator that I can leave on when I pull the air tube off for filling. The shroud that come with the red ones do not do much good for reducing the report. I need a flat bottom brake/moderator.
by the way I will loan out my chrony with a tripod - only restrictions are you come to the airport to pick it up, and return it in the same condition you got it.
it is a must tool if you plan on doing any twisting with your system
