Title: Grouse Triple Today

Went out exploring today and took along the rifle....1500 feet above the Tulameen Valley floor....

Got three nice grouse, a young Ruffie, a big male Franklin's and a female Franklin's (Spruce)....

You can sure tell the difference in the colour of the meat on the Ruffed Grouse (left)....

What a SUPERB day.... 3 shots, 3 Grouse....  ;D

Wow, that's great! Grouse season started today in MA but I didn't see any. Did blast a nutter though.  :D

My wife makes a Grouse Pot Pie that is to die for.... Pastry strips woven over the top.... baked in the oven to perfection.... Mmmmmmmm....  ;D

Bob, if we made a trip up to visit, would you get your wife to make that Grouse Pot Pie for us???  I think the trip would be worth it!!!!!

Got another beautiful pair (M&F) of Ruffies today.... and Molly (my 6 mo. old Lab) retrieved them both to my hand.... When she dove at the first one I hit, it tumbled over a bank and flushed the second one I was looking for.... Fortunately, it only flew about 20 yards, landed on a log, and presented me with a good shot.... Both were 1-shot kills....

It doesn't get any better than that....  ;D
