Hi all, not sure if this gate is the right place considering the post is about optics but let's give it a shot.
Are there any air gun-qualified scopes out there that sport the distinct German reticle below? Technically called German reticle #1.

I'm trying to outfit my Diana K98 with at optic that will more closely match the "authentic" rig that the WW2 snipers used. But I'm not about to blow $300 on a ZF39 reproduction that will shatter on the first recoil, let alone probably not easily mount to standard 11mm rails. So any modern options would definitely be preferred, but these are not easily found. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

No real idea on that one, but it would be nice. I have an old Weaver, K2.5 or 3x with a German style post reticule, all 3 posts in it are pointed, and the other has a post and crosshair which is also nice.. I have them mounted on a couple of Marlin 39a Mounty .22 rifles. I don't think I would want to risk them on a springer though.

Do a google search.

Searching on ebay might get results. I quickly found this: https://www.ebay.com/str/visionkingoptics?_trksid=p2047675.m3561.l2563 (https://www.ebay.com/str/visionkingoptics?_trksid=p2047675.m3561.l2563)
Don't know about reliability on a high-power springer though, however these scopes have etched reticles and are rated to 1000 G. HTH.

Thanks for the link, but which scope in particular are you referring to? At a glance, seems like these all have more modern reticles.

If I remember correctly, the German scopes of WWII had a 28 mm tube diamete.
It doesn't have a the German reticle but I have this one on my K98.

I found this one had an interesting reticle for the price: https://cutt.ly/bO6FKXe (https://cutt.ly/bO6FKXe)
This one also, but a little pricier: https://cutt.ly/CO6Gn8K (https://cutt.ly/CO6Gn8K)

If you want to protect your scope, these are not authentic period mounts but may save whatever scope(s) you want to mount on your Diana K98. Diana bullseye zero recoil mount or the Sportsmatch dampa mount.

I've seen some at Optics Planet but the lines from the sides go all the way to the center post.

Contact Leupold. They may be able to fix you up. It might not be cheap, but it will be correct. And ALL their scopes are air gun rated.
