Was testing pellets last evening on my new to me B40 and had the Ruger Air Magnum out to change over to JSB's too. While shooting I hear the high pitched bark of the ground squirrel so I look out front and sure enough there is one sitting in the dog food bowl. I popped a JSB in the RAM and set for 12 yards @ 3x I set the crosshairs right behind his eye and then raised up 2 mil dots and let it fly. At first I thought it was a miss as he didn't even flinch then I saw the drop of blood come out his nose then the dance started. He twitched the boogie for about 15 seconds and was done. When I checked him out the pellet had landed exactly just behind and above the eye and went out his neck. Oddly I found a wound in the back of his neck that was partially healed that was a perfect .177 size with no exit wound, it really looked like it should have been a fatal shot, but these critters are tough.
