Title: Diana Stormrider 1st armadillo
Post by: Mpac on February 09, 2022, 10:06:04 PM
Went to scan my yard with my flashlight didn’t see anything went back to my front door and there he was at the fence line went into the house grabbed couple of H&N 18’s went back out and wasn’t there and found him out back where the yard been dug up by him tree about 20 yards away and glad his head facing me got him between the eyes he started his death dance but no long . Like the lightweight gun feels like a youth gun easy to handle and lug around.

Good shooting and nice pics.  Amazing claws those critters have.

They can zure tear up a yard , I live next to a big ranch and when they start coming in ,it don't take long to notice and I start nightly patrols usually takes about two nights to eliminate them ,I use a .25 gauntlet with a ATN 4k pro easy peesy.

Good shooting.  I have one that occasionally comes through the yard.  Now that I have the Ding Donger, maybe I'll find him.

Thanks it may be armadillo season here again they are hard to find they come always when I'm asleep it seems. I may sit out on weekend nights with my origin equipped with nightvision. I chronied my Stormrider with 18.13 grain barracudas and hitting 30 ft lbs with the small gun didn't think they should get that its a refub model but I'll take it.

Sure it's not hog damage? Tank rats tear up a yard alright but nothing like hogs. If you don't have hogs in that area you're fortunate indeed.

I've had hogs come to the feeder in the backyard ,but I have a driveway alarm on the feeder area so the hogs have never tore up the yard ,haven't even had a hog come through in over a year , the armadillos don't make as big a mess as pigs but still ruin a nice lawn , I usually have to put a alarm over the area they are rooting to catch them as it's always at 2-3 am ,but it works haven't had one in the yard for 6 months now ,I usually give them a pass if I'm out hunting on other property.
