Well Walmart was out of cphp so i grabbed some of these crosman pointed.
Thing is after i got them open the pointed part looked more a split between domed and i guess normal sharp pointed?
So first 15 of the day to try.. not too bad vs other pointed I've used.
Maybe later on today and a few more pots of coffee ill retry for matched or better results..
I got to admit the 3 at 50y was most Impressive. .

Those look like they work good for you Deeco. I have tried them as well in all 3 rifles, Gamo VH and Diana's and simply can't get them to do well. BUT the cphp's do great in all my rifles.
Have a great day and enjoy the coffee,
steve

What’s funny is the ONLY reason I tried the Piranha’s in .22 was they were out of CPHP and the I found I really liked them. So sometimes you can happen into some good stuff

I just shot another 50y , its not too bad ,but the usual crosman loose fitting blows the group... The uniform fitting / sized looked to hit pretty dead on.
Oh well... I guess they coyld be out of all pellets .. these will do in a pinch if nothing else. Kinda wish ida bought another tin of them..
Funny as well the part number on the front is p177c511
On the back it's p177c512
Airpower...? ?
Anyway so far the best pointed ive shot yet..
The others were lucky to hit the rack more than hen the paper. And thats at 20y..lol

That's really good at 50y. Curious if those pellets are "going to sleep" out past 40 yards...
If the results are constant they'll be an excellent longer range (mid range?) option. Being available and affordable are a big plus too. I'll have to give the Crosman pointed pellets I have another go to see how they fair in some of my newer acquisitions. I'm out of .177 CPHP's and doesn't look like I'll be getting more anytime soon.

In .22cal I've just got in some Premier Domes, as .22 CPHP's are unavailable (but still have some old stock). The Domes seem to be pretty good.
When time (and temperatures) allow, I'll be looking for alternatives to my "normal" .22cal fodder. Have a few types I'm currently trying to test out. Been getting better than expected shorter range results from Excite wadcutters and mid range results from the pointed, but just not as good as a "premium dome". But still, No tin can inside of 60 yards is safe. ;D

Dont know ive shot crosman pointed and best i remember they were pointed.
These are more blunt/rounded then sharp point.
Now maybe the crosmans are the same in any packaging?
The rugers and daisy atre sharp point and for me shoot poor.
Here's a (wonderful) picture of the daisy pointed next to the crosman pointed.

Yeah, the Crosman "Field Points" have the same rounded point, not a true "pointed" like many other types. That design may help the B.C. some, as standard points are surprisingly bad in the whole energy retention department (was kind of news to me, always figured they'd be better than domes). But the do penetrate very well, I've had good success with them in lower energy guns when extra "zip" was needed.
I found it interesting that pointed pellets were supposedly ideal for "bird control", at least that's what I read somewhere. Guess the point finds its way through feathers better. Don't know first hand, but I could kind of see that. But with the higher energy output of most airguns today, probably makes little difference.
With the lack of Domed, hollow point, Brown box Crosman's, and the introduction of the new Essentials line, maybe the Pointed veriety will be "the new" top of Crosman pellets along with the Piranhas?
They had a good thing going for a long time with the Premier line...

"They had a good thing going for a long time with the Premier line..."
Well i hate to think crosman putting brothers out of work over them imported pellets.
Then them essentials imported, less per tin, and cost more + pit american worker on the street..ya
G0d bless america.
