Title: 12gram CO2 cartridge seal/o-ring replacement?

Is there a good source for these seals cheap or can a regular o-ring of compatible size be used?

Trying to revive an "older" BB pistol (about 18-20years old now) that just needs the cartridge seal. Also would like to keep some on hand, but if anyone knows if a regular o-ring that might work that would be great too.

Difficult question to answer in the general.  Different models use different method of retaining the seals, different seal geometries and so forth.  I have at times been able to use a nearest fit O-ring.  Just have to experiment...it needs to stay put and stand proud enough for the nose of the cartridge to reach it, among other possible considerations.

Thanks for the reply. I have a few o-rings that might work. Did find some piercer seal multi packs, but work out to be $4-$5 a piece ($20-$25 per order). For that much I could just buy another BB gun (or most of it). I tried the Teflon wrapped CO2 cartridge "trick" in the past with no success.

Speaking of teflon, just visit your local hardware store and check the plumbery stuff aisle. You may find teflon faucet seals that are real close in size, and teflon is easy to re-shape if needed. HTH.
