Looking for a reputable tuner to work over a Browning leverage in .22.
I've been in the gun once to clean, deburr, and grease. But that was years ago. Getting back into my airguns again and have seen that tuning has evolved a lot, or at least my understanding of what all goes into a good tune job has evolved lol. I really enjoy that gun and would like to see it at it's best. Any suggestions?

I appreciate the link, however it really doesn't help. Motorhead won't touch Chinese guns. And I have already emailed flying dragon about it and only got a confusing reply with no answer to my question. Did I miss something?

:-X Lol ... I touch them and shoot a couple, just don't offer servicing on them for hire. :-X

Perhaps flying dragon only works on new Chinese AGs?
There is the small potential problem of working on an AG that someone else (you) have already tuned. The argument might be that if you knew what you were doing, you would not need a professional tuner. If you don't know what you are doing then the tuner may inherit trouble you caused, that results in a dispute they can do without.
That said, I am sure that if they knew you personally then what you did and what you want could be cleared up.
You are asking me to speak for them, and I am neither qualified nor commissioned to do that. So, consider the above speculation.
You might ask Bayman (Ron) for his opinion: https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?action=profile;u=33840. (https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?action=profile;u=33840.)
A phone call might help clear matters up, and enable Ron to decide if he can help you.
One thing to bear in mind is that the cost of work does not come down, just because it is on a used airgun that was cheap to begin with. Those working on Weihrauchs may choose not to touch a cheap trap with a potentially expensive bite.
It depends on your expectations and how much you are willing to spend. There is also the matter of familiarity. If you like Chinese airguns, buy another fully tuned one from flying dragon. Yes, that more than doubles the cost of your initial outlay, but then you can expect the tuner to take responsibility for what amounts to their work. With no potential for arguments about who did what.
Again, full-on speculation on my part.

So, you'd do it for free, then :)

Lol. No offense intended Scot.
Subscriber, I understand that quality work comes at a premium. I don't have any preference on Chinese guns. This one was a gift from my kids. Have no desire to replace it or get rid of it. Going through the gun again myself is an option, however I spend 28 days at a time on a boat and my time off is short and very precious. That's why I would gladly pay some to do this project for me. The gun shoots as good as it always has and I am certain I did not cause any issues when I cleaned it up 6 ish years ago. I would imagine any issues would have showed itself by now. Was simply hoping to get someone with the right equipment and resources to give a gun that means a lot to me some TLC

I give Free ADVISE near daily ... that we can agree on ;D

Thanks Christopher,
Those details help.
I sent Ron a PM. He only works on Weihrauchs.
Good luck in your quest.

I appreciate it guys. Including the free advise. I have made contact with a few people, and it looks like I'm going to have to carve out the time to do it myself. Getting internal parts is going to be the challenge. Spring guide, top hat, new seals if needed, etc. I may be limited to polishing up what is already there.

You might give John in PA a call.

I will reach out to John tomorrow. Thank you

This guy seems to have a good reputation with Chinese guns:

I heard back from Mike at flying dragon. He is going to do it. I'm going to call him after I get home and finalize the details. Thank you guys again for your help.
-
There ya go.... Mike will do you right.

If I simply had to send a gun to anyone it would be Mike Melick or Rocker1, I've talked over the phone with Mike extensively about a lot of things that had to do with China built guns, he's definitely a man you can trust with your gun.
-
Thanks Wayne.
He seems to have earned a lot of respect on this forum. Can't wait to get it done.

Christopher I check his site every day, I see recently he said that he'll be getting more Xisico products in the near future, they're really good guns and he's always got some of the best deals on them as well.
-
Good choice. MM has tuned all of my Chinese rifles with great results. $100 to include return shipping is well worth the price. He did my XS46U (same as your Leverage) and it is a sweet shooter.
-
His prices have gone up since then I guess.
He definitely has a good rep it seems. I'm going to try to get the process started shortly after I get home.
I may eventually buy another underlever gun. I've been tempted to customize / reshape the stock on my leverage but don't really want to change it because of it's sentimental value.
But if I bought another ..... Then I could go nuts with it lol. That may just happen in the near future.

His prices went up? He tuned a rifle for me 2 weeks ago for $100 including return shipping. I'm asking him to tune my B4-1 now, I'll let you know what he says for price.
