Title: AEA S45
Post by: E30_S50 on January 19, 2022, 03:20:41 PM
Have any of you guys heard about this S45 AEA is supposedly coming out with? 45 cal SEMI AUTO. Looks pretty ridiculous from the YouTube videos. I'm interested to see some review vids...reliability and accuracy testing once it becomes available.

I'm curious what the ideal ammo will be for it...they don't mention what they are shooting out of it in any of the short vids.

It seems like if there was ever an airgun that could be viable as a home defense tool, this would be top of the list, assuming it is reliable.

I'm guessing it will be .457 size like there other 45 rifles, but just a guess.

Bin just posted a video about it.  You can use a dual tank setup with it and remove the back one and put a charged one on it.

It is .457 which is awesome because I have a ton of bullets.

They put some good ideas into this. That tank adaptability is a nice feature.

I wonder if they will come out with longer barrels or other power modifications to get the fps up a bit higher. Mid 900ish fps would be nice. I'm curious what grain projectile they were using in the video.

Even if they where using the lightest which would be the 147gr roundball or EPP/UG it would be a 200 FPE gun,.....pretty cool from such a small package and semi -auto

My 45 challenger had 461 bore , the popular 45 slugs don't work ,maybe AEA changed their 45 barrel choice, one can hope,,,,

How much would it be to re-barrel the gun ?......might be worth it to re-barrel it to .452

Or maybe let them know about it.

i canceled my zeus gen 2 preorder, and put in a pre order for one of these monsters.  i inquired about barrel/slugs

"Thank you my friend please use 457 and weights at or less than 200gr"

i put in an order of 196 NSA, as well as an order of 457 hornady roundball.  i'll report back whenever these get delivered (and i have time to make it out to the desert)

Nice info to have.  I didnt realize they were doing a Zeus 2.0.  I wish mine wasn't so "dang" heavy.

The whole aea world is a bit confusing with Bin from bintac, and Bin from thepelletshop looking to be competing importers.  Maybe the name Bin in China is like being named John in America?

Either way the new Zeus is just as heavy. But the scope rail is now picatinny and they moved the air gauge to a better spot.  https://www.thepelletshop.com/collections/aea-airguns/products/special-series-zeus-gen-2-72-cal-big-bore-air-rifle (https://www.thepelletshop.com/collections/aea-airguns/products/special-series-zeus-gen-2-72-cal-big-bore-air-rifle)

The guy I dealt with today was Bin Tac. I will say, he is Johnny-on-the-spot when it comes to questions and service. I emailed some questions and he responded almost immediately.

Did they ever state the weight of the gun?  Just curious. My AEA .45 Challenger pup weights in at 16 1/2 pounds. That’s with scope, sling and a full mag. I too am wondering about the barrels. I am shooting .457 NSA 290 grain slugs that I powder coated. Measure out at .459 to .460. 5 shots are pretty much touching at 50 untethered.

I was planning to be prudent and wait for reviews etc... but this dang internet just makes it too easy to buy things. Sometimes I'm like a housewife with an Amazon prime account.

Bro.. I'm over here on don't buy anything until I finished all my other projects...

But here I am 1300$ later.

Yeah.. I don't like having to use an adapter... But I've already got mine here.  I didn't get to take a deer with it this year, but I definitely will next year.

The ZEUS gen II with the bigger tank looks great, I bet the 16" barrel version is sick.

I just tried to order one on Bin's website but unfortunately it only lets you pay with paypal. There's no option to just pay with a card.

You can link PP to a credit card.  Works the same as just using a card. Gives you the option to pick a CC when you click the vendor's 'pay' link.

I'm guessing the problem is not wanting to use paypal at all. I can understand that. What about Survival Airguns or one of the other places he mentions in his recent videos?

Exactly, I just don't want to use them or create an account. It's just another unnecessary account to possibly have compromised/hacked and a big hassle.

Reluctantly, I did end up using their PayPal system but did not complete the account process...but still had to give PayPal my info.
