I started using an appropriately fitting pistol /rifle sock on my HPA tanks. I just find one that’s about the same length and stretch it on and tie it off. I put my tanks in cushioned bags regardless but it’s nice to have extra protection. Just an idea for everyone

There is a free one you get when purchasing lawn chairs.. The bag for storage of the chair will fit some tanks...

I'm going to order some of those socks, that's a great idea for repurposing, but I also use one of these tactical take-down rifle bags. Also available on Amazon.

It is nice to see some good ideas and how others find a solution to the same problem. I am not an expert as I have only had a PCP for a short time but I found that the Home Depot Husky 24 in Toolbag is a good fit for a 1 hr SCBA tank along with some extra storage for other needed items when going to the range or hunting.

Additionally, as a protective sock, I think I will try using the cut-off leg part of an old 7mm Scuba wetsuit. I have a couple laying around and I am pretty sure they will fit nicely around the tank and provide some nice cushioning from light blows.
If you are worried about the fill hose on your tank always getting in the way then maybe try this solution we used to secure scuba tank hose to the side of tanks so they did not dangle around and get caught on things while diving. Find an old truck or large tire innertube. Cut a strip out of it that is about 1 1/2 inches wide. Now, this round strip can be easily stretched over the SCBA tank and the fill hose can be secured under it when not in use. It might take a bit of trial and error to find the right size tire tube for the tank you use.

Took a tool box, top and bottom box separated , and mounted my tank in the bottom...
