Title: 10 meter accuracy and the HatsanAT 44/Hammerli Pneuma
Post by: darryl on October 13, 2011, 09:16:16 AM
Any owners here confine your shooting to 10 meters. I'm told Hatsan tests accuracy to this distance, and does not assume accuracy beyond it with these rifles. I'm confused. ???

thanks sr500. I was asking because UMAREX found a 10-shot group of .453 ctc with Miesterkugeln to be acceptable. It also found a second 10-shot group of .493 to be acceptable. It found a 10-shot grouping of JSBs @.616. I don't know if it found that acceptable. I'm ticked. >:(

and this is same gun at 80-90 yards (I cant remember correctly what was the distance). There are 6 targets like this on A4 size paper.

I dropped a red squirrel at 62 yards yesterday and a chipper at about 35 yards today. Hardly ever shoot anything at 10m.

Is this an Elite loaded through a magazine or are you single loading? Sounds like you have a booger in the barrel somewhere and need to either polish it out, recrown or something. My 50 yards groups with RWS Superdomes off of shooting sticks is no more than 0.5" usually.

I sent this thread link to UMAREX to show it that accuracy at 50 yards with other Pneumas is as good as what it tested those Miesterkugeln pellets at 33ft. That does not seem to be the exception, from what I've read elsewhere on the web. UMAREX is in Arizona. Lot so f wide open spaces for testing. I think it's 10-meter testing should be reserved for specific 10-meter competition airguns.
Yes, mine is the repeater. I guess I'm stuck with this one. UMAREX would not consider letting me trade it in for a single-shot version. Also I've posted that the spring hammer adjustment is immovable. I don't want to risk using brute force. I've read that some are held by Loctite, and some are jam-locked, but I can't say which is the case with mine. It simply can't be adjusted as-is. I'd have to take it apart.

If it is loctited then a little heat will free it up. You can try heating the tip of a wrench and stick it in there and let it soak for 10-15 seconds then turn it.

Yep Stefan. Now I'm going to have to be a gunsmith of sorts.

good tip, R012 but I need to be certain, so I want to tear it down and see. (but maybe I'll try it first)
