Well My 362 Showed up bout 8 pm to late to do any accuracy anf fps testing... So right to work 26" .177 Barrel and steel breech...
had to see how close My and Tack Driver 10's estimations had come to actual results... post 515...
https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=182911.msg156268519#msg156268519 (https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=182911.msg156268519#msg156268519)
well,
JSB 13.43g Monsters... with 8 pumps... spits em out at 692 fps for about 14.3 fpe
10.5g CPUM... 4 pumps 603 fps/8.49 fpe....6 pumps 695 fps/11.25 fpe...8 pumps 761 fps/13.5 fpe...
7.9g CPHP 8 pumps 833 fps/12.18 fpe
7.4g C Points... 8 pumps 859 fps/12.1 fpe
some details and pic later today... Overall length is about same as a Maximus.. ;)

That's great Kirby... I bet it's a nice little arc out to 35yds too.
That puts it right within my goal for the 24" .177 barrel.
-
Pretty healthy numbers Kirby.
Are they just using a standard diameter 13xx t-port on these? I still haven't swapped my breech yet.
-
Awesome stuff. Too bad Crosman did not come up with a .177.
.22 is under license in my country,
Manish

do not know size of throat/poppet pocket or diameter of poppet shaft... but my .155/ 5/32 drill bit fit the exhaust passage... stock t-port is .138... but I used a .144 t-port I had... then messed up when I went to drill out the barrel to match...accidentally used the 5/32 bit... not a major catastrophe but now is important to close the bolt with the rifle held vertical with some pellets like Sniper med...oh well will live with it for a while... fps boost with 7.9g and 10.5g was ~5 fps... would matter a bit more with a hogged out valve with the heavy stuff...
also included a pic to show with his ported .22 cousin(50 fpe stock hammer spring) yep the 362 Long is as long as a Maximus...
-
ok,
Among my needs prefer less wrist angel and more distance to trigger... The Max in 160 stock above pic is just right...pad of trigger finger falls natural... Max and 362 stock are just wrong for me...
this trigger well as bad as the stock 2260 trigger... nice and stiff.. ;) needs work... this one just had a quirky feel also... Maybe it was me but today the trigger was in the way... and I am pretty adaptable trigger wise... feel if I get it sorted a bit it will definitely help shrink group size...like I said felt stiffquirky... So spent about 20 7.9 to rough zero... 20 7.4 let me know for sure they a hated by this file...
so first was the Sniper Med this barrels fave food as a Maxi...learned the verticle load method was needed...next CPHP and top left is five shots...
-
monsters top the left flier was me... bottom group low was bolt just not shut enough and small blast happened...cpum high shot was me...
bottom CPUM group Kentucky windage/elev... aim point was high left after first two shots...
-
So yep I feel with some work and getting more familiar... sub .75 to down to near moa will be the norm...
So yep first groups shown...room for growth and consistancy that I feel will happen... think will be more .4-.5" than .75" once sorted imo...

Dial it in Kirby...
Room for improvement with pellet selection to power refinement. The gun will also break in as time passes.
Trigger is key for me... bad triggers definitely distract my aim concentration.
That is one area I will work to refine. And I think improvements will come easier than that of the new 392s triggers.
-
Bent spring mod, along with light trigger return spring lightened up the 7lb pull... the sear needed stoned... was rough at shear line... and that fixed the quirkiness... very predictable with about a 3lb pull now...bump tested and it passes...
CPHP at 30 yards are now sub .6" very reliably now... first four groups were .52" .44" .48" and .41" ...
took the ldc off... touch to loud and louder than expected... ldc back on... Barrel is less pellet picky than it was when it was on my .177 Max...
so far the 10.3 AA and 10.5 CPUM seem to be about .5" but only did 2 five shot groups each...all at 8 pumps so far...
oh decided to use the Winnie 4x32 AO For glass. need to get some lower rings thought had some but all could find was the high rings... yeck...
more testing tomorrow... Cause Winner Winner Chicken Dinner big Brown just dropped off #2 from Crosman.. ;D
-
Kirby... what's the plan for #2?
-
That's a sweet .177 there! I have mine ordered with all of the goodies ready for it, .177-.22 Max bbls, breech and such. I can't wait! 3-4 pumps equals a stock 760!
-
My 24" .177 barrel came in today.. now waiting for gun #2 to arrive Thursday to put it on.

sorry it took a bit to reply been testing both every second have had to spare... and busy helping a friend most of the time since Sunday...
well he has a steel breech & 24" 2260 barrel I bought long ago but did not use yet... think it was just over 13$ back then...He will get his own cross-referenced thread... But till then here is proof of life...

30 yards he really likes 7 pumps and 10.5g CPUM.. ;)

Here are the magic Numbers 30 yards, 10.5g , 7 pumps, 722-728 fps, .3" (moa)
the 6 and 8 pumps are typical(so far) with the ten pump group the only time I did such...
in the 7 pump lower goup the flier to the left was on me... the lone to the right was Kentucky adjustment... but I messed up and loaded the CPUM horizontal and fell into port and gouged pellet... could feel it load hard...
middle group is five shots lowest right is the oblong hole...
oh adjusted scope before last group... just to be closer to bull but not right on... wanted a clear aim point...
Man I want to thank the Engineer that probably had to stand up for this project... I think Many of us here have wanted it for a good while...and they listened... I have like/loved the Crosman/Benji pumpers for a long time... 101s forwards... This one in many ways is the best overall...
-
I've got #2 on the way. Now I need to decide if it gets a .177 barrel or a .25. That's probably going to lead to a #3. Thanks a lot guys. ;D
-
If that 392s I have in the classifieds sells, I might get yet another to tinker with in .22.
-
Nice shooting K.O.!! It was a pleasure working on this gun and getting it to market.
-
Thank you sir... I have a lot of fun tinkering/tuning pumpers...
right now tho the Beast made me do it...Dang harmonics...did a good bit of testin' with different pellets at different velocity/pumps...gotta retest now... added a harmonic tuner...
pic in post #125

as a harmonics aside...
Max Maximus(pictured above wearing a 160 stock in post #4) does very well with 30g BBT, JSB K.O., H&N slugs n such at 45-50 fpe... BUT the fourth Barrel band needs adjusting (acts as harmonic tuner) between a couple of them...
