Title: '67 Blue Streak Success!
Post by: benji397 on December 27, 2021, 08:43:12 PM
I'm probably more excited than any of you will be over this but oh well. This is that Streak I bought at the Thrift Shop the day after I got that 342. Last week I disassembled and cleaned everything up while waiting on the reseal kit which came today. This is my first Blue Streak and my first reseal with a soldered valve. Everything went back together smoothly. When the big moment arrived to pump and test, I was praying that #1 it would pump, #2 that it would discharge all air, #3 that it would pump without having to cock first. I was very happy I got all 3! I put a few drops of Pellgun oil on the piston and fired it a few times to get oil in it...... then on to the Chrony.

All I have is the Benjamin ammo so I don't know if that's good or bad. Each pellet I chambered was a tight fit, tighter than any other airgun I have. As you'll see from the chrono data it seems to me to be pretty healthy, although I've never had one to compare it too. I have no explanation for that first high velocity shot????? So here she is.... All shots were at 8 pumps.

That’s great Mark. What was your baseline for pumps?

I keep looking for that too.   But obviously a great result congrats. Nothing like success with your own work.

Wow, Mark...

Those are good numbers!  My '65 Blue Streak has never been refreshed and it gives me about 595-fps with eight pumps and those pellets.  I'd be very happy with that gun's performance.  Congrats on a job well done!

Ride on,

J~

I am no expert but isn't the Blue Streak .20 cal and the Benjamin .22 cal? If so the ammo is to large for the Blue Streak?

This is .20 caliber, made by Benjamin (Crosman)

That's a real nice shooting gun.
Congratulations on getting it doing so well!

If I take one apart, I'm lucky if it ever goes back together, yet alone working 😂

I feel pretty good about the rifle. This was shot at 8 yards in the garage just trying to get the iron sights close. These are three shots each. Bottom dot first, then top dot 2nd. There's 6 or 8 other holes under the tin of pellets as I was calibrating....no need to see those ;D

Nice!  It looks like you have a shooter.  I really favor that period of manufacture for the Blue Streak.  The early sixties were a special time for Sheridan.

Ride on,
