Title: pro sport
Post by: grandad on November 13, 2021, 04:22:19 PM
I have just go my pro sport in .22 and put about 200 pelets through it and it has started making a heavy clicking sound when youpull the lever to cock it and set the safety go to move it back and there is a click, any body got any ideas.
I have only shot JSB 15.9 and 18.13 through it and the accuracy is not there 2" groups at 30 yds in my underground range.
I have shot springers before so I know about the hold. thanks Steve!

I'm not real clear on what you're saying.  When you cock a TX 200 the anti beartrap clicks as you go through the cocking motion.  The Pro Sport is probably similar in that regard.  I think three clicks is the normal number.  The fourth or final click will be the sear latching.  If the clicking bothers you depress the cocking lever release while cocking.  This prevents the anti beartrap from engaging.  The sear will still engage normally at the end of the cocking stroke.  With the TX 200 if you disengage the safety the only way I know to reset it is by cocking the gun again and allowing it to automatically reset.  In any case I'd find two inch groups unacceptable with that gun and suggest you may have other problems.  Cleaning the barrel may help.

Thank you for your reply, but the anti bear trap is different on the pro sport than the tx200 rifles. Steve!

I typically hear two clicks on the ProSport. The first is the click of the bear trap and the second is the click of the trigger engagement. Putting the safety into fire mode also gives a little click.

Sound like only two click. Hearing might be playing tricks on me. Sorry!
