Title: "Flip" Style Practice Target
Post by: rsterne on October 07, 2011, 01:30:21 PM
I made this up a few years ago for practice shooting.... It's welded up from some scrap bits of angle iron, a strap hinge, and a 90 degree angle bracket plus some bits of plate....

Assembled showing various faceplates....

Left paddle ready to shoot....

Halfway position....

Right paddle ready to shoot....

I painted the faceplates flat black and used yellow paint or tape on the paddles.... The spring can be adjusted to allow different power rifles to be used at different distances.... If the hit is not strong enough it won't flip.... too strong and it bounces back.... When properly adjusted it will work over a fairly large range of power, however.... Lots of fun and good practice for FT....  ;D

Bummer, beer cans will do then.

Hang them on a string behind a piece of plate with a hole in it.... or use a bell?.... Anything to force you to shoot through a hole appropriate to the distance....
