Title: scope for Air Arms AirArms S510xs xtra I

I am looking to put a Vortex Viper 6.5–20x50 on an Air Arms s510xs xtra .22 cal.  I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this scope or has used it in a similar application?  Is it overpowered for this rifle ? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks
