Title: 22 Cal Marauder
Post by: ICEMAN on October 04, 2011, 12:15:58 AM
I have been thinking about converting my 22 M-Rod to a 25 Cal. Would like to know of someone who can do the job. I am also wondering if it is an economical upgrade or if it is better just to buy a 25 Cal M-Rod. Any comments or information would be appreciated.

Thanks Larry :)

All you need is a .25 barrel and bolt. If you .22 is shooting good.. then I don't see why you'd want to change it to .25. I'd just get a .25 and keep both.
The main reason why I did not get the .25 is due to the shot count per fill and I pump, pump away!

My 2 cents.

Actually Larry, I think the .25 cal. has a different breech than the .177 and .22 guns.  Barrels and bolts are all that is necessary for the smaller calibers to switch but will not work for the .25.  Hopefully, some with firsthand experience will chime in presently.  I expect that it would be more feasible to buy a .25 Mrod than to try to mod a .22 into a .25.

My 22 M-Rod is just not as accurate as I would like it to be, and I am not happy with it. It is also my second one, as I returned the first one to Crossman for repair or exchange due to accuracy issues. My 177 M-Rod is a tack Driver, and it is bone stock except for an adjustable butt plate. I understand from past readings on the forum that the .25 Cal is very accurate.
