Hi I would like your opinion I want to add a external plenum to my hm 1000 x there is a hole in the block after the reg I have a aluminum water trap off a yong Heng air hose 4500 psi compressor the threads into the gun I believe are m14x1.5 but the hole in the water trap is only the size of 1/8 bspp I think a pcp gauge screws into both sides of the trap my thoughts were to drill and tap one hole to m14x1.5 in the trap and install a male to male fitting m14x1.5 that would be rated for 300 bar the trap, fitting, and gauge would all be rated to 300 bar seal it with a couple sealing washers would that be safe to do in the aluminum trap in your opinion or is it a bad idea there is a male to male 1/8 inch bspp drilled and tapped threw the trap but the hole in the fitting needs to match the transfer port size I can get some pictures to would like your opinion before I try anything thank you for any help it would add about 25cc of plenum to it thanks

Hard to visualize what you are thinking of doing, and the safety involved.... My first question is how large is the existing plenum, and how much power are you wanting to get from the gun.... I know nothing about the HM1000X, you might be better asking this in the PCP Gate, I can move it if you wish....

My current gun set up was producing 52 ftlbs from 25 cal pushing a 34 gr to 830 fps I would like to get up to 900 fps or more I'm not sure what the size of the internal plenum is on the hm1000x I have read in other forums that by just adding a 25 cc external plenum gains 50 to 75 fps plus I'm rounding corners in the valve and polishing it all up

This is the water trap
-
This is the hole I want to enlarge and tap to m14x1.5
-
That small hole fits a regular mrod gauge in it

I don't know how to go about sealing a 14.5 mm x 1.5 mm male to male fitting.... If it is tapered pipe thread, you would use Teflon tape, most other pressure fittings require a Dowty seal in the bottom of a shouldered hole.... If you can find such a thing in the size you need, and all fittings are rated at 300 bar, I would think it should be OK.... Of course you are the one responsible to determine that....

Then get a male to male m14x1.5 H style fitting on both sides rated for 300 bar seal both sides with seal rings . The water trap is aluminum its rather thick and is rated for 4500 psi I was worried about the drilling and tapping out to the larger hole in the water trap if it would hold . That hole in the trap had a 1/8 in bspp male to male fitting in it sealing by 2 sealing washers

I didn't know if the drilling and tapping would be sufficient in holding the fitting in the aluminum but yeah if I can find a fitting everything will be rated to 300 bar or better and I understand that it's my risk but thanks for your opinion

I figured that it would be better than just drilling out the old male to male 1/8 bspp to 6 mm hole and putting a adapter on it to getting to the right size thread
-
I would not drill out the ID of a 1/8 bspp fitting to 6mm.... not for service at 300 bar....

No I didn't think that was a good plan at all
