How is the bolt handle on Benji 392/397 removed from the bolt?
Is the bolt itself steel, or ??????
-
The bolt handle is not meant to be removed from the bolt.
-
Mac-1 makes a knurled knob to replace the bolt handle.
So....................

Are you having bolt to scope clearance issues ?

Potentially........
I have installed a Dennis Baker 1 piece mount.
It will need some appropriate rings in order to easily cycle the bolt.

The bolt is all one piece. For a lower mount, I have bent the handles down about 5/16 “. The Baker doesn’t extend all the way to the end of the breech . Limits moving the scope rearward to clear the scope bell. A longer scope like a 4x16 x44 will mount further to the rear . Narrower 16 mm wide rings also allow more rearward movement. Also a 1 inch diameter scope tube gives more clearance than a 30.
So many variables, most settle for a higher mounted scope and be done.

Yessir.
I understand.
I have never been one to "settle for."
I will make another bolt using brass.
Then I can experiment with alternatives.
I think the cocking knob is a good alternative........
