I went to place a pellet order with Pyramyd very early this morning (wed). When you click "estimate shipping" in your cart the quickest cheap option , is 4 day ground now. What the heck? or smart post showing mid July - if your lucky . So for 4-day it shows Tuesday of next week -so 6 days to get to the house . Why the difference ? all my orders came in 2 days even as recent as an order placed 10 days ago
Now the prices don't reflect this difference in the addition of several days to deliver it. I decided not to place the order based on the time period to delivering it now doubling. Might as well wait until there are several types of pellets that I need available instead of multiple orders as each one is back in stock.
Has anyone else come across this?

All my orders have come Fedex. Fedex’s shipping times are solely based on your distance from the Cleveland Ohio area. Only way “4 day ground” exists is if you live on the other side of the country. I will say a couple orders have taken an extra day. Fedex is very busy, however if you live in that two day shipping bubble PA must be factoring in extra handling time.
Edit. I see u are in Georgia. No such thing as 4 day ground from Ohio to ga. That’s PA handling time.

Yeah ,I've placed many orders through them and like I said always comes in 2 days. This 4 day shipping option is new . Never been in there before so I find it very odd.

I have placed several orders for pellets over the last couple of years and I have always just selected whatever was the cheapest option. I don't recall too many times, that it took it took more than a week I am generally ordering well ahead of time so I could care less if it is two days, four days or six. Quite frankly I don't see what the big deal is between two days and four.
My two most recent orders came in either two days or four depending on how you want to look at it. I got a "shipping" notification and when you check tracking all that was done is a label was created. Once it actually got to the carrier I got it in two days but it was two days in "label created" status.
It seems that not too long ago everyone was complaining about shipping problems everywhere and all sorts of packages taking a long time because of covid personnel shortages. Is four days really going to bother you that much?
We've become so used to instant gratification with Amazon's overnight delivery of many items that nobody has an ounce of patience any more. If you cancel an order because of an extra couple of days then don't complain if the item isn't available when you do place it. Considering the shortages of many items I wouldn't take the chance.

Amazon's Prime Days have set new sales records. This puts a strain on delivery services across the board.
Also, read the fine print... 2 day shipping only begins once the item leaves the warehouse. Processing could take up to 5 days.

I think PA is just being realistic about the situation with FedEx. I have had a number of packages from them ‘delivered’. Yeah, right. They physically show up a day or so later. Usually from a guy in a rental van whose sole job is fixing the stuff the regular drivers can’t be bothered with. I live in a rural area, so those distances are just sooooooo long.

Ohio to Illinois is five to six days in FedEx time. No matter what you pick, it’s just too far.

Guess I read more news than is good for me....everyone is having shipping delays. It's rare to get anything in less than a week.

I've been having nothing but problems with UPS. Shipments have been delayed, lost, damaged... you name it. I had one package sit at the local UPS distribution hub (one hour from my house) and then it was put on a plane to Houston and sat there for a week. I never got it. Unbelievable. I've also had them leave a package at the bottom of my driveway to sit in the pouring rain until I finally realized what they had done. Then if you try to contact someone by phone all you can do is talk to an automated system, no humans.
Say what you will about Amazon, their returns / refunds policies for Prime members is the best. They don't always offer the best pricing, but at least I know I won't have to wait weeks to get a refund if UPS looses or damages my order.

Thanks guys. It probably is that ive just got accustomed to getting my pyramyd orders in 2 days. That said it still is something that ive never seen in the shipping options from pyramyd when i have placed orders . So it is new to me. It probably is true though that they are just giving more time for the fed ex screw ups .

Considering the issues with shipping anything these days, would appear PA is just finally being honest about how long it may take you to get something you ordered.
Now...showing up when they say is a totally different story but that part isn't PA's fault, that's now on Fedex, UPS or USPS.

Shipping is all over the board. I sell model parts on FeeBay and sometimes things get where they need to be on time and other times they fall into a black hole for days, even weeks. If I ship to WI, MI or TX, I pray over the shipment that things do not go awry. Two weeks ago, I shipped a package to Bakersfield CA from Simi, I watched tracking take it there via two different Utah zip codes. Fed Ex just took two weeks to ship a Walmart order to me from NJ, when it was supposedly in stock locally; everybody is messed up these days. ::) :o ???

You're probably right . USPS is the worst around my area.

This thread is drifting,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ;D
Shipping is still out there. It hasn't recovered from the pandemic, just like a lot of other things.
My experience with PA is when shipped, and I have never waited less than a month for that to happen since I started buying from them, it is here in 2-3 days. 4 days is the promise, not the chiseled in stone arrival time. These folks are as victim of the times as the rest of us, I'm just glad I get orders, usually spot on for shipping/fulfillment times, and they get things out instead of sitting on orders.
Their time frame isn't yours. I'm sure they are doing all they can though. I have no complaints.
